This is one of the five 2002 MCI D4000 buses that RTS still has in their fleet. Sit back and enjoy part one, which is from downtown to Panorama Plaza in Penfield.
That bus is awesome. I didn't know those type transit buses had storage
bays. Would love to see the inside. What gearing does it have? I just
changed the gearing on my bus conversion had 478 changed it to 410 was the
best change I made. bus runs over 70 and cruises at 65 like a dream. What
kind of mileage does it get with the 8v71. That thing sits low wow Killer
bus.
+Mr Jones On the bays, there's space, just no floors or doors. They have to be built in. I have a picture of mine with one panel off. I used it to get closer to the air dryer in the next section. It's something like 2 feet high from the bottom of the bulkhead to the bottom of the frame rails.. So you have a full square 2'x5'x8.5' space in each section. There's a little more room from the bottom of the frame rail up to the floor. It think it was around 8" to 10". Not so good for a tank, but useful for packing gear into. And no, the mini won't quite fit. I tried. :)//imgur.com/0InRbni
My bus ride home on RTS route 21/22, part 1.

Vancouver has a fleet of suburban Orion V buses (front door only, comfy
high back reclining seats, A/C) rolling around, they are better than
Rochester's MCI D4000s, as they are not as high floor (steps are not so
steep), and allow wheelchairs to board without using a second door (lift is
hidden in the steps at the front door).
kind of painful to watch. It's bad enough having to ride the bus home. Its
even worse watching someone else's bus ride. I could see how this could be
useful to someone who is thinking of riding route 21/22 and doesnt really
know exactly where it goes.
The rts is a page of my childhood. I loved these things as jatran in Jackson used these up until 2007 and I was pissed when they got the Gillig lowflors and retired the old RTS busses
+qwandiddy Central Arkansas Transit (now Rock Region Metro) had these type buses along with Neoplans and Gilligs. Currently Rock Region Metro have Gilligs along with Pine Bluff Transit.
+jimster586 Little Rock did as well but it was 1981 models that last through 2006.

NYCT Bus: Nova Bus RTS #4934 B12 Bus@Alabama Avenue/East New York Depot
This is an upload from my Android phone. Here's one of the few Nova Bus RTS buses still in service at East New York Depot with #4934 on the B12 route as it ...
Goodness @ 1:57 when he turns and opens up on that stretch of road... I
love how hard this beast shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear. Look how the handicap
seat belt panel fly's closed on the 3rd gear shift @ 2:07. That's a bus
with attitude. Can someone please explain to me why these type of
transmissions have that weird sliding boost / bucking shift at 3rd gear &
what is that low rising growling sound that you hear from 2nd - 3rd gear? I
love that shit lmao !
