LOL got this book and I did the same thing. By that I mean I brushed
through the pages randomly singing songs then flipped a few more pages lol.
How is that Mya-Moe settling in Petey? Gordon emailed me last weekend to
lock in my configuration for my #1092. I had changed it a few times but now
it's set I'm more than happy with my choices. Not the real waiting and
watching starts lol. Best wishes, Lyn
When the blue book was announced Jim took song suggestions. If you
suggested a song you got your name listed- it is kind of cool. Jim and Liz
are great people- they are the real deal. As far as the Carolinas go- I'd
love to visit, but I need to plan my vacations way out in advance for my
job, so it won't be in the near future.
Just met Jim and Liz Beloff in WIlmington, NC at the North Carolina Ukulele
Academy. I noticed that you were mentioned in the back as one of the song
contributors. Nice!! What a beautiful couple!! Hey! Come and see us in the
Carolinas! We'd love to see you.

Congrats Pete, for breaking a resolution before the first week of January
is out. Never heard of this song before now. And your intro about this
song's history reeled me in some. I paused, looked up this song. listened
to the Vintage Staples recording: watch?v=_g4sDSpW9Uc then 2 others
(partially) and agree with thumbs up ppl on that page that its by far the
best version. Your take/pitch isnt very far from that, though slower, more
bluesy.Your singing near the end was very similar. Thanks man
And here is Gwen, and you would not be too proud of me right now, my friend
Pete. I got much practice to do, but I'm going to enjoy these lessons with
you. In fact I think I wlll carry my Uke down to Ms. Doris and we will go
over this lesson together, over our coffee of course. Thank you for the
sweet words, Pete, you are too kind. Good to be here with you and looking
forward to the lessons with you. Glad you are giving us a week though, to
give us a chance to work on each song. Gwen
