Hi, would you recommend using any engine flush oil additive when draining
the engine oil just to get rid of all that sludge and crap inside the
engine ?

hi mate personally I would not use any engine flush it can be very bad for the oil ports I've seen engine flush block up engines and have seized personally what I would do if your engine is bad putting good quality oil and change that and the filter every 3000 miles after a few times you should notice your engine getting cleaner hope this helps thanks for the question

is a noise in engine I was told possibly injectors but I'd like your

hi mate the problem with the video of your engine noise is the camera does not pick it up properly so I'll sound different in real life to the camera but you can give it a go and I will try but can you tell me more information about it like does it smoke when it starts is it hard to start things like that and hopefully we can get to the bottom of it thanks

Hi mate. I have a xsara Picasso with the 1.6 hdi version of this engine. a
dealer tech recommended to remove oil filter whilst sump plug open as
filter housing will drain through a bit more oil

+Rob Taylor have had a lot of experience with these engines but you are doing the right thing with changing the oil the problem is most people don't do this they do not service it til 2 of 3 years that's the main problem with most engines but you are one of few that is doing it right

I found I get a bit more out as it took more oil to refill to Max level than the first time I did an oil change. Why the manufacturers are doing away with the old spin on off cartridges I'll never know. Why do you say these engines are crap? I had a Picasso with the 2 litre hdi and although never had a problem, and much easier to service!, the 1.6 seems smoother and better on juice. Just reaching 100 thousand miles now. I know previously its had a new turbo before warranty ran out but I am a bit ott as I change oil every 4k

+Rob Taylor hi mate it's hard to say but I've tried it both ways and haven't really seen any different as long as you get the engine nice and warm so the oil is thin you shouldn't have a problem but you'll never get all the oil out of an engine

hi mate, hope your doing good. just have a quick question and want to ask
if its okay to mix oil viscosity. e.g. if your car has 5w40 inside and
needs a top but you only have 10w30 with same spec, would it be okay to top
it up with that?

hi mate if you're stuck in the middle of nowhere and that's the only oil you can get then yes it's better than nothing but as soon as you get back home I will change it straight away personally I would not mix oil hope this helps thanks
