great maps! I have a couple of those...and love 'em! If you enjoy the "hills" in the Maumee to Dillards Ferry section, try out the ups and downs from Boxley bridge to Kyles Landing...beastly! enjoy your trip...that is some beautiful country!

Was at the Buffalo River recently and there was still ice in a few places, so you might plan for cooler temperatures than where you are. There are elk in the upper Buffalo, we saw a herd near Boxley. I hope you have a great time!

great vid have you been to lost valley its an easy hike but some great scenery there are several waterfalls and a cave with a waterfall. or hawksbill crag its like a 3 mile round trip i would say its moderate to hard. (if your overweight) but its amazing the lookout point is like 200-300ft high and you can see for like 100 miles over the valley you just see like 1 million trees and i saw so many species of mushrooms of all shapes and colors and there is a waterfall there to but its off the trail

The Elk species was once native to Arkansas. Eastern Elk and Rocky Mountain elk had very little differences from each other. Still waiting to hear why you think it's "stupid."

Rocky Mountain Elk are not native to Arkansas. They are native to the Rocky Mountains. Eastern elk are gone. There is nothing you can do about it.
https://gp4.googleusercontent.com/-z7GigDF1ILs/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/Kg38iryhUsc/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
What is so stupid about reintroducing a species that was once native to the area before humans hunted them all out?
https://gp6.googleusercontent.com/-PTld_KzR8I8/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/dpBuKlVVpvE/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
It's pretty stupid that Rocky Mountain elk were brought to Arkansas.
