I wrote to the Sacher Company: They are not amused to hear rumors like the prize of 100$ a slice. They say the SacherTorte stands of high quality not for decadent luxury or frippery... That there Chocolate cake as a higher prize belongs to the fact the only best three sorts of Chocolate in different parts of cacao are used ... In which formula of mixture is the secret of Sacher...

Ah! I buy one for every birthday, and another for Austria's national day, October 26. Gives you a real taste of the country! However, a bit sad that you can now buy them at Vienna Airport, especially at the Regional Plane Gates at the basement, horribly presented in those old-style refrigerated presentoir, like sausage in a supermarket...

No, a whole cake costs 39,50 € but the transport by airplane could cost plus 35 €. So the cake may cost 75 € about 100 $ the cake!!!
