It's a homage to the grindhouse B-movies back in the 70's. Grindhouse movies where low budget movies by unexpierienced makers who often had lots of controversial subjects and sex which wasn't common at the time. Lot's of films from europe came to america where people could watch 2 movies for 1 ticket, they where relativly short. This movie together with Death proof from quentin tarrantino and Planet terror from robert rodriques are homages to the genre. It's often slasher, bloody, corny and cheesy but that's the whole idea and what makes it so fun and great to watch. Haven't seen this movie yet, but if you like the old chainsaw massecre and evil dead and movies like that then I'd advise you to watch the Robert Rodriques movie and Quentin's one. :)
