How do you drain out the water to clean that bottom part? My whole container seems like it's clogged as you can't put a broom stick through any of the salt and the water is about half full so vacuuming it out isn't a great option.

I would discourage using a broom handle for breaking-up a salt bridge. Splinters could plug the venturi. Seen it happen...

+aryndar Perhaps but you know someone will use a wood handle. Best situation is not to load the hopper with too much salt.
