Wilson No Ground Plane CB Antenna Kit
//www.rightchannelradios.com/wilson-cb-antenna-109/ This slide-to-tune no ground plane CB antenna kit from Wilson is an excellent choice when you need ...
@Revelation6v8 YES sir I concur COMPLETELY ! If you have a good ground a
standard ground plane antenna will be MUCH better than the NGP for sure .
Some of these trucks coming out now do not have any "groundable " metal on
the mirror brackets , which is about the only location for an antenna . I
slipseat ALOT , meaning I drive different trucks daily sometimes changing
trucks at my turnaround point and returning .
The firestick that you mention is one of the antennas I use too when I can
get a ground; and it does perform very well and thanks for your input ! The
NGP is a compromise but, it does beat NOT having a CB for those trips ! I
carry a WILSON 3 ft NGP kit on a CLAW mount if I have to drive one of the
trucks that has the mirrors that don't ground .
@Revelation6v8 Are you talking about the Firestick NGP antenna OR the
regular Firestick antenna ? This Wilson NGP is primarily made for those
installs that do not have a proper ground plane . IMO if you do have an
acceptable ground plane a "regular " ground plane type antenna will perform
better .

I want to buy………….
Channel Radio is no no..
//www.rightchannelradios.com/wil… don't know the antenna exist
The reason I don't show that is because every application will be different.. You can either find a mount that has a small pass through (drill hole will be small) that is connected to the antenna with a nut or screw OR one that is permanently attached that requires a large hole to allow the connector (part that screws onto CB) to fit thru. The routing of the cable is a personal choice and can be done anyway you like as long as you stay away from sensitive electronic components.. (most cables are shielded pretty well though)..
I ordered this kit and installed it. I can never get an acceptable SWR
reading on it and it never receives. When I hook my radio up to a K30
Magnetic Antenna it receives and transmits fine with no SWR. I want the
Firestik for looks but just can't get them to work any ideas what could be
wrong.
You could mount it on a vertical surface, or a tube that was less that
8/10" thick. Mounting diagonally wouldn't be an option unfortunately. Glad
to hear the videos have been helpful! Thanks for the note!
