this is the best stuff I've ever made, it is so rich and foamy. I used the
hemp dr bronners and a calming tea, with both coconut cream and coconut
milk. I'm in love!
I want to make my own shampoo and add olive leaf and nettle leaf to it but
I don't know what kind of olive leaf or nettle leaf to use. I can use them
in extract form without alcohol but I was told there are still trace
amounts of alcohol (1% - 2%) and that the alcohol could be very drying. If
I added aloe vera or some other moisturizer wouldn't that take care of the
problem? I could also buy the nettle leaf and olive leaf in powder form
and cook them to form a liquid but I would rather use the liquid extract
since it would be a lot easier.
+Colorful Canary I appreciate your advice. Do you think the extract form of nettle leaf would work just as well as the powder form? I would rather use the extract being easier to use.
+Chris D nettle leaf would be better, you may need a very fine sieve with the powder, if it don't all dissolve you will have some solid matter in your shampoo, it won't hurt but you may not like the texture.
+Colorful Canary I just found out I already have nettle leaf in powder form and in extract form without alcohol. Would the powder still work if left to sit in the hot water and would the extract still work in the shampoo? My previous comment regarding the alcohol being very drying was wrong and it is true only concerning the extract that has more that trace amounts of alcohol in it which is not what I have.
+Colorful Canary I have had people suggest to me to use a tea pot if I cook the powder to preserve more of the herbs benefits when cooking them. Do you know if that is true or would it make much of a difference?
+Chris D Just get the dried herbs and make a tea, pour 1 cup of boiling water over 2 tbs of herb, let it sit until it's room temperature, strain and use. :)

DIY Natural Shampoo
I hate how most shampoos make my hair feel like hay, so here's a quick & natural way to clean your scalp. SUBSCRIBE ...
As an aspiring (transitioning) naturalista, your videos make me so excited
to see my hair in its unaltered, natural beautiful state. I absolutely love
your videos!
Hey everyone (Watch in HD)! I have been making a few of my own hair products since I became natural but I have never made a shampoo. This is the most ...
Definitely just use the castile soap by itself then. It comes in a few other scents/oils and it's found in a few drugstores and specialty stores but Amazon has everything lol
+Suzanne John-George It shouldn't be if you add less coconut milk than I did. You can try using the castile soap as shampoo as an alternative I use it by itself on my hair and it's definitely one you only need a nickel size for.
I am so happy to find this!! I have been trying no poo, then just water,
then standard vegan shampoo and conditioner and I am still not happy with
my hair. I have very itchy, flaky scalp days that drive me crazy. I can't
wait to try this.
before your normal wash (baking soda, water... etc) use a infusion of rosemary with mint or salve it will solve everything about your scalp problems, you can ad a pinch of vinegar. try and tell me how it goes! ;)

used silicones (which I never use anymore). I made a big batch to freeze
with some essential oils thrown in.
+MsFlamingFlamer That GREAT! I always love when one of my tips help someone...the essential oils are a great ideal to add on extra goodness to your hair :) and freezing it is a great ideal for later usage.. Thanks for watching always :)
*111* Homemade Shampoo Bars
How to make homemade soap for use as shampoo bars for natural hair Sidenotes: //goo.gl/9NncN6.
+Dalma Perkins I have a list of vendors but they are always in rotation to ensure quality control. If you tell me what which ingredients you are looking for I might be able to give some suggestions.
No. And the lye is undergoing a chemical process with the oils to create a salt which is what soap is. If it is soap, it is created with lye, but as long as an appropriate formula was correctly followed there will be no lye in the remaining soap. Superfating is important for this reason as it ensures that calculation errors don't result in leftover lye. Superfating is basically purposefully having extra oil/fat in your soap recipe (more than needed to reach with the lye). Even authentic African black soap which is made with ashes and other natural ingredients involves a process (using those ashes and water) that creates lye (potassium chloride I think) naturally. Using pure lye only eliminates those extra steps. The chemical process is the still the same and unless you're trained in making African soap by the women in Africa who've perfected it, you'll find using a soaping calculator gives you more safety and control while making your homemade soap. Read up on and follow safety precautions and do your research. Please don't be afraid of soap making, it is a process of turning "evil" dangerous chemicals into ones we can use and benefit from and eliminates other synthetic chemicals often found in soaps and shampoos. You'll know exactly what's going onto your body (and being absorbed by your skin) and I think it's worth a try.
+bkeressW Final PH was about 8. It's still high but with a quick ACV spray I can counter that. The batch made with just water (not herbal tea) ended up at PH 7. I'm sticking with that formula for now.
+zitoonaful It can only burn your skin if you have left over sodium hydroxide which is extremely corrosive. But if super fatted correctly and making sure all the hydroxide reacts with the fat, the reaction fully eliminates the corrosive hydroxide. Curing time lowers PH and eliminates excess moisture in the soap, which makes the soap last longer and not dissolve in large amounts when it is used. If your fresh soap (24hrs after it has set) is burning you then something is definitely not right with the formula.
+Paris Kmetko I switch between vendors for quality control but I have purchased on Amazon Soap Goods, From Nature With Love and Bramble Berry. If you tell me which oil you are interested in, I might be able to point you to a vendor I like.
Better Hair | DIY Natural shampoo with Baking Soda
Benefits: - more volume - less hair fall - natural How it works: The baking soda mixture is applied to the roots only (do not apply to the length of your hair ...
It goes bad then gets better... After the first week or two your hair gets used to it then it starts becoming healthier and thicker. An alternative is to use shampoo without SLS :)
+Michaela Chnurikova not completely unfortunately. in the case where you do an oil mask, its better to use a good shampoo with a lot of foam to take out all the oil. else you will have a lot of grease remaining in your hair. Baking soda is good to take out small amounts of naturally produced hair oil from day to day, rather than oil treatment masks.
I use this and Apple Cider Vinegar an my hair an scalp feels clean however
with this it looks dry...I tried coconut oil but my scalp starting itching
like crazy...can you suggest something for me to use...
+Beaut QT try yves rocher vinegar rinse I saw it recommended and Im giving it a try. its like 98% natural ingredients it seems good! I bought 2 bottles for only 24 bucks and they gave me a $48 perfume (full size) as gift. :P so far so good
+Erlinda Diaz you could practically eat the stuff if you wanted to. baking soda not just to clean dishes etc etc you can use it to wash your hair, soak in it kills bacteria and makes skin super soft its prob less harmful than 99% of all soaps/shampoos
DIY: Shampoo! Step by step on how to make "no poo" shampoo. It''s natural and great for your hair!
hello, me and my sister Bianca are going to show you how to make your own natural shampoo. Going "No Poo" is very popular so enjoy!
Argan rain organic shampoo works. That's all that really needs to be
said. It did take about 2 months to see results, but the regrowth is
noticeable and I will continue to use it.
I tried the " ArganLife shampoo" and after just one wash my hair is soft to the touch with some body and shine. My hair also tangles easily, especially at the roots and ends, and after using the arganlife shampoo I can actually run my fingers right through my hair from roots to tips. The smell is also very light and pleasant. I work out everyday and while I don't sweat a river, I need to wash my hair with something that won't dry it out and this shampoo will be perfect for that
