Good info, SP. One question: If I have a Baofeng radio can I just purchase
2 or 3 transmitters for placement around my property and monitor activity
through the Baofeng without needing to buy either the base station or
handheld unit?

No one replied to you?What dicks. :cI would think (and hope) these units are cheaper than the baofeng radios. (mine was about $30 alone)Now since I've never used these or similar motion sensors, I don't know what frequencies they operate on, but I would assume it's on the dakota (or which brand you prefer) website.

A couple of things about these MURS MATs, they will run on a 12v gel cell,
you can adapt the SMA antenna connector to a BNC female and have the
ability to add a cable and antenna that you can string up a tree or to a
higher point on a building to improve the range of the transmitter.
By changing the battery pack from a six pack of AA alkalines to two four
packs of rechargeable batteries and adding a small solar panel, these can
be set in a location and the batteries will not need to be changed out.
A small VHF ground plane can be made of wire and concealed in the upper
limbs of a tree and the cable painted to blend with the bark. Run it up the
back side of the tree away from the approach direction of an intruder.
You could also use a gain type mobile antenna with these and secure it up
in a tree with a couple worse as a counter poise for better performance.
Lots of options. I highly recommend these units.

You have 107 from Montreal to Winnipeg BUT it picks up traffic off of 120
in Toronto. It basically becomes a whole new train again in Toronto but
still goes under the same train ID. A lot of trains like this never end up
with the same cars at the destination as they had at the origin.

That train is a mess. It comes into Winnipeg with traffic from Toronto,
Montreal, Halifax and New Brunswick. Even thought it is blocked properly,
you still have to yard it in 3 tracks to separate the Winnipeg, Calgary and
Saskatoon blocks.

@GEES44DC I don't know how they determine train numbers. As you described
it, I would expect 107 to be the portion from Toronto to Winnipeg.
