Get On Up Official Trailer (2014) James Brown Biopic HD
//www.joblo.com - "Get On Up" Official Trailer (2014) James Brown Biopic HD A chronicle of James Brown's rise from extreme poverty to become one of the ...
Why can't anyone make a normal movie trailer anymore? Why does it have to
fade to black with a kick drum every 5 or 10 seconds? Its a fucking movie
about a soul funk singer for god sake just give us a glimpse of some of the
story and drama and stop with the over editing bullcrap cos it makes the
movie look tacky and shallow. RIP James Brown
Looks slick, air-brushed and "hollywood" - everything JB wasn't.
To get a good idea of at least part of his incredible life, check out "The
Night James Brown Saved Boston" instead - gritty documentary of 1968 that
goes a good way to illustrating what made Brown such a mesmerizing figure
Yeah totally agree. All the biopics coming out look the same: Grace of Monaco, Diana, The Butler (every damn Lee Daniel's movie looks like this though). Kind of sick of the homogeneity going in contemporary cinematography. Definitely would have been more appropriate if they had a gritty look.
+Valerie Nelson You Right its was moving to fast for me going back and forth to much like they were in a rush to make the movie. It should have been more like Ray but better
Yes an James Brown did not look like that the actor that plays James Brown his dancing is some shit an really James Brown was 5 feet tall an had small feet an he was not boning, the actor look so crack out really!
R. Kelly is working on writing some of the soundtracks songs of this
movie... that's GREAT news!, and only reason i will watch this movie about
this wannabe chris brown,
james brown, who ever he is...
that's pretty fucking sad to say when you saw Oprah in the cast you'd hate
it. what the fuck does Oprah's fame have to do with how she would portray A
FUCKING CHARACTER IN A FILM how does it have to do with her celebrity.GROW
THE FUCK UP. I'm not a great fan, but insecure, little pink slime who HATE
for no fucking reason get on my nerves. and the only reason you said the
directing "wasn't anything" is because you're bitter because Nubians were
directing the wee little caucasians. LMFAO at you.
You know, when I saw the first (Oscar-hungry) trailer and the cast, I
thought it would actually be one of those great films. But it currently
only has a 6 something on IMDb, strangely. The Kutcher-Jobs something like
that as well. And even weirderer... the Kick-Ass sequel, which is basically
a spectacle-flick for most, fares better in the ratings. What happened?...
"Films" become mediocre "flicks" and blockbusters become "films" (or at
least better)? :P
I thought it was very good, powerful and inspirational. It was easy to see
the "Hollywood-ized" aspect of it - the son being involved in almost every
single monumental event in the civil rights movement from the diner scene
to the freedom bus to MLK to the Black Panthers, was kind of ridiculous.
But it's a movie and it needed to capture all of those things somehow. I
didn't know Oprah was a good actress. She did a great job!
I don't think people are going to go watch it for excitement and to see how
things will turn out. Like you said we all know. Most are intrigued about
the journey and emotions within the story. It has some great actors and I
know many feel emotional ties to racism, bettering oneself, and enduring
hardship. That's why this film looks appealing. At least to me.
You could have at least mentioned how you dont relate to the Father, son
relationship because you are not a father, or how easy you have it now with
your i phones 5 and i pads.. but you go straight to practically making fun
of this movie and laughing about it and I found your review disrespectful.
THAT's wny you lost subs because of this review.
I thought it was amazing and I was moved to tears at the end. The
characters were believable and relatable and it addresses a dividing issue
in the black community regarding the approach to improving race relations:
integration vs revolution. I saw that as the two elements being represented
by the father and son. My movie rating: Da Bomb Dot Com!
This movie was soooooo generic. The acting was the ONLY saving grace and
even that isn't as noteworthy as critics are making it. The film has the
best intentions but the delivery is as pedestrian as I've seen lately. It's
not a bad movie just so unbearably meh and that's a shame (and
disappointing) with the level of talent that is involved.
I'm not sure how I felt about the rest of the movie, but I agree that the
KKK scene was hard to watch. It terrified me. I could see the terror on the
son's face (played by David Oyelowo) and I felt that really drove it home
for me. He had some really great scenes in the movie, that’s for sure.
Personally I couldnt get past the lighting in the trailer. It seemed almost
over done like a crappy afternoon soap opera, and made me get bored
visually. I found myself looking at how much time I had left in the trailer
alone, so I dont think I would end up sitting through the whole movie
In my opinion rating systems are not needed. All I need to know is if the
movie was good or excellent or okay or bad. Rating something only makes
people upset because people will say how come you didn't give this movie
this rating or this movie this rating. That's just my opinion though.
LMFAOOO salami-face, YOU'RE the "minority" race in this world. ASIA owns
you- LITERALLY. crack a book. sorry to have to point out the FUCKING
OBVIOUS to you. but then again, your race IS intellectually retarded
compared to ASIANS. aww, poor you, minority.
I generally agree with you on this review, but for me the standout scene
was in the restaurant while juxtaposing the students "rehearsing" their
stand in and showing shots of Cecil working. Powerful moment. But yeah the
rest was pretty humdrum.
I just saw it Sunday. All I can say is I enjoyed it. It was very
compelling. Brought me to tears a few times and had its funny moments. But
you are right I think I more enjoyed the actors and their acting rather
than the story itself.
It's just that this was the only cinematic program that hit home for
me.(with my mother being African American) and although I've heard multiple
stories about segregation, it was still interesting and scary...for me. I
don't know.
Why didn't they just call it "Butler"? Or "Black Butler"? Or "Slave
Butler"? Or "Black Slave Butler"? Or "I Can't Believe It's Not Butler"? I
feel like they had more choices than "Lee Daniels' The Butler" Is what I'm
getting at.
I feel like it's weird that you thought it was "ok" or "predictable"
because you know history. I mean, what are they supposed to do? Change up
history so you're surprised and entertained and not get bored?
I loved it! I thought it was great, (especially Alan Rickman, as I am a
potter fan) the acting was great, but you're right it definitely had its
moments when it was dry, but overall I really enjoyed it
iI like the movie. I lived doing that time and the movie brought back the
bad things white people did to black people. I knew that i was going to be
mad and upset over this movie, but it was a good.
Not at all, 42 was very engaging and I loved it. As I said in this review,
you need to really make it good if we all know what happens and I didn't
think The Butler did that unfortunately.
I usually like your reviews but not this one. We have differing opinions
but you lose me on your reasonings or lack thereof for disliking. This
review overral just seems s bit lazy.
I really enjoyed it. I think scenes like the lunch counter and KKK along
with some good acting all around made this film worth watching. Could have
been better but still enjoyable.
The Butler is out of your scope my little nerdy friend. Stick with Artemes
Fowl. I saw you and your fellow Potter heads foaming at the mouth while
discussing it's release. Enjoy!
Fuck u Lee Daniels for putting shit out like this and Precious and that
comment u made “White People Loves Us When They Use The Word Nigger” Kill
ya self BITCH
I enjoyed it. there were parts like you said that were hard to watch and I
thought everyone brought great performances no matter how long they were on
screen.
