Limited demand, maintenance costs, increasing fuel costs, tax, ever
increasing insurance costs etc etc. In the current economic climate a 3.2
V6 golf isn't exactly a viable investment. R has two less cylinders with
similar bhp so increased fuel economy, and frankly the Golf R starts at
£30,000, and lets be honest that's very expensive for a 2.0 L golf, even
though it has a huge turbo. I love the R32 as well, the new Golf is due
next year apparently, so hopefully the 3.2 V6 might be reinstated.
i really like what they did with the body kit on the mrk6 body style. i was
thinking about getting one of these when they got to the states but decided
on the r32 as i keep hearing about the 2.0s burning up over here due to the
turbos. however honestly feel that car needs a res delete. give a nice vw
growl. def did a nicer job with the dsg tranny this time around. nice car.

it doesn't sound anything like the R32 but it feels more alive and racier
and it has some very nice sounds on upchanges. I too would prefer the 3.2
V6 but EU-legislation is slowly putting a stop to fun and games.
@XxPropheticxX yeah, at about 140-150 simply because the engine isn't that
big, it begins to fade, don't get me wrong it is still fast but it's 0-100
time is deff where it shines but the 1/4 mile is where it starts to
decline, also it corners like a monster, it's incredible on a track.
@xampx2k7 I knew it, but I doubt it was the R32 250 hp without turbo ...
Add a turbo on the V6 ... The R32 was a big acceleration for air And the
sound of the V6!!.. but good with a turbo it would have been more expensive
... but when you do not like you do not count: D
Shit sound compared to the r32, the theatricals of the car have
disappeared. Yes it may be quicker, more efficient etc etc, but people who
buy a car of this nature want the sound above all else. Bring back the old
r32 please!.
its an optical illusion. look at the speedo. the whole first half is 0-100.
the last half is 100-300. so on the speedo its gonna look like it rockets
to 100kph then dies off. but it doesnt its just a poor design by vw
I'm just curious, since I haven't been in the new golf R, can someone that
has the experience tell me if it fades after 100kph, from the videos that
I've seen it seems as if it does... Someone correct me?
@sodazman yeah but this does sound better than a standard GTI for whatever
reason. It's different. Maybe the camera has a part in this. but yes, the
VR6 had perhaps on of the best sounds ever.
@sodazman Hell yeah it did. I kinda miss the look of the old R32 as well.
It had a more unique appearence this looks a lot more like all the other
rides on the streets 2day
@MrLithso Because the poor fuel economy that it gets and its impossible to
make any real power with the V6 where as a simple tune will put the R up
