God of Love; God of Judgement? Michael Ramsden at Pepperdine University with Q&A

Is God fair? Is he morally trustworthy? Is he inconstant in some way? Is there a difference in God's character in the Old Testament versus the New Testament?

How is it possible for God to judge man with the same standards that man judges man? This is where the anthropomorphic analogies break down. Man can judge man because they are equals; but, when man has to "judge" anything else, he uses different standards. If a wasp stings Mr Jones when he swats at it, people don't judge the wasp the same as they would judge a person who stabbed Mr Jones. Similarly, God does not judge us the same way we would judge us, because we are not His equal.

+Believer VS Beliefs We, however, shouldn't judge other men since we are subjected to the same type of wrong like other people do. If we judge others but yet we make the same type of wrong as others, only makes us hypocrites

+Believer VS Beliefs I've 2 points that I want to say1) Christ Jesus had became that very man to experience what we have experience. In fact, his suffering at the Calvary, being betrayed by His fellow Jews and apostles, being mocked by people shows that what we have gone through, He gone through it before. Yet even though He faced trials and temptation in all directions, He did not sin. Therefore, having faced what we face, He is able to judge.2) And who are we to question whether God can judge? Does we, the created, have the right to question or say whether God, the Creator, can judge us or not?

The statement at the 31:45 mark is really one to think about. There's a depth there that's easily missed if you're not paying attention. I've listened to it four times and I think I'd like to hear more teaching on that.

i appreciated the answer to the question asked "how can i be happy in heaven if the person who abused me, who made my life hell, is in heaven as well' ,..and of course that is what jonah wrestled (poorly) with- the nineveh (today's general area of contention Mosul in iraq) atrocities were infamous, their wickedness and brutality are hard to grasp, until you see those same people burning people alive today. the same question might be asked by iraqi christians today...how could God ever allow these people to repent? easy to judge jonah til' we have to 'pray for our enemies '...takes on new meaning great questions

as our understanding of the truly awesome nature of God, the magnitude of His being, the depths of our depravity,  the scope of what we have been forgiven and at what cost redeemed grows in our spiritual lives, it becomes easier to grasp. keeping our hearts fixed on Jesus Christ, immersing ourselves in His word, and in prayer are the 'Way'

+Laine Gordon Unfortunately it's a largely accepted idea, the idea that they can't be happy if bad people go to Heaven, and so they wont come to Christ because of that, and neither do the Christians.

Huh, this is interesting. I always thought that a dorm was like a motel or something you know? Just a regular room with like two or more beds :p. I didn't know it was apartment like.
