I have a 2012 GTI with DSG. I m thinking of getting a Unitronic tune as there is a shop about 5 miles from me. What is advantage of a stage1 or stage1+ combined with a stage 2 dsg tune ( as opposed to a stage 1 dsg tune) ?

+trubblman stage 1 vs stage 1 plus is a matter of the fuel octane used. + has has more power through the use of 93 or 94 RON. I am sure you have figured this out by now, but for anyone else who finds this video. DSG tune differences are also listed on their site

Looking to buy a 2009 gti with a stage 2 unitronic tune, only thing that concerns me is the clutch? It has 44k on it but does stage 2 cause slippage or anything?

no.. this is my 2011.. it had APR. must have been APR stage 2 I guess. that was like 3 years ago.

I am a little hesitant to buy a DSG tune for my car. Some people say they destroy clutch packs really fast. How is your DSG holding up? I have about 45,000 miles on my DSG. It's one from a 2012 (I assume). I lost my first DSG from mechatronics failure at 33,000 miles and that destroyed everything inside it.

i have heard of like 2-3 DSGs going bad with DSG tunes in 7 years of modding.
