.........there are many Punjabi songs of devotional nature dedicated to Guru Nanak Dev and Guru Gobind Singh. Suppose he had sung one of those songs in his lisping voice and had distorted the words giving comical connotations to it? What would have been the response of his parents? Would it have been as indulgent? Would they have playfully posted such a video on youtube? Still not convinced? Then try posting a similar video with "Star Spangled Banner" & watch the fun! Now keep shut & introspect.

Nationalism and National Anthem seem to be rather irrelevant trivia to you, aren't they? When I was that age, my parents & elders painstakingly helped me with correct recitation of the National Anthem. Whenever I took it lightly and playfully, I was promptly ticked off with a reminder that it was the National Anthem after-all ! I tried to inculcate the same values in my children. How about you in this regard? But for this issue, no hate towards anyone. On this issue, hate is an understatement.

Sir, you are totally sounding like a pedantic wretch. Do you not understand that a child conditioning takes place in stages. For example, he begins learning to write by scribbling non-sense marks. He then learns to draw straight lines. And then understands how to connect those lines and arcs to form alphabets. When you were a child, did you learn how to speak perfectly fluently in a single day ? And did you never mispronounce words ? Were you born with the ability to do everything perfectly ?

By the way, I'd like to point out that I have NOT used a SINGLE abusive word throughout the narrative till now! I don't think you understand the importance of National Anthem, young lady. My comment was meant to be harsh with a purpose. It is obvious that parents of this kid have contempt for the National Anthem (and for the Nation, for that matter). But this is a cowardly & despicable way of expressing their anti-national feelings. I particularly realized the importance of Nationalism & Patriotism when I moved to a foreign land some years ago.
