@RICHGREENNOW NOOOO. allan rarely EVER used tapping. the classical hand
position he employs allows for WIDE stretches on the fingerboard. RARELY
used it, notably on the VH ted templeton -produced 'road games' where he
uses tapping for the breakdown in the title song and in a few spots in some
solos, usually just ONE note, nut a barrage. he uses his LH for all the
furries of notes, just look up his live vids! i've seen him live 3 times,
hasn't used tapping the last two time i saw him this decade
James, I am going to defer to you in that you sound more qualified to
comment on Holdsworth's style than I am. So, thanks for correcting me. I
enjoy taking apart every musical piece that I fancy but I am a keyboardist.
What the hell do I know, Yknow? Thanks again and keep playing!
Classic piece played by some of the best. I have been a fan of Alan since
1980. He blazed a trail that guitarists all over emulated. Correct me if I
am wrong but I believe he invented the "tap" Or at least perfected it. Let
me know, thanks.
not bad, drummer really is good and the band overall good job on this
classic piece by lifetime. i thought the guitar solo was cranked up too
high though and the solo got away from the overall tune a bit but still
nice job.
Great job you guys! I saw Tony once back in the early 80s at a Chicago Jazz
Festival. I was just a kid, and he made quite an impression! Shortly after
I bought the album with "Fred" on it. Anyway, keep up the good taste!
Admirable job on a VERY tough tune. Good feel, the tempo is dead-on, and
your drummer nails that insane flam-fill of Tony's at the end. Bravo for
tackling this guys, excellent tribute!
Wow! Reminds this Los Angeles guitarist when I used play this in the old
Swiss progressive rock band Flame Dream I was a member in Luzern;and Allan
used to write me hate letters.

FOLKS will wait in line to buy an i-phone5 for weeks and weeks sleeping
outside in the rain with no umbrella, but if you ask them to wait in line
to VOTE for a few hours they completely freak out. To me that is so
STRANGE. waiting in line is a fun cakewalk as long as it means you buy an
i-phone....
