+AlexRejba I disagree. Heinz just wilted to pressure and let the stakes affect his decision which is a recipe for disaster in poker. Calling on flop was standard these days and disguises your range vs tough players like Howells. Raising the turn though after Howells shows more aggression on that turn would've been much better b/c at that point I doubt Howells would've folded if Heinz shipped with all those draws and him been at the top of his range. But as I said, I think Kamisky had a plan of trapping and calling down but didn't execute it because it was the Main Event. Understandable, but very very disastrously bad on that spot. IF river was Qx completing a FD then a fold would've been more justifiable but this fold is flat out bad no matter the table talk or whatever history you've had with your opponent.
+AlexRejba Thank you Alex for your reply and interesting insight, you may be right there...sometimes it's better to "kill" at the start than risk it all to the river.
+Jesse Howells That's the problem with flat-calling a set on the flop, especially with a possible flush draw. He should have raised and saved a heartache.Thank you for sharing your story.

+ViewOnPoker Thank you and Absolutely! Really appreciate the great quality videos! I'll do my best to try and explain this one...Heinz and I had a lot of history leading up to this hand and had a ton of mutual respect. He's a great guy, said nice hand, and had great composure afterward running up a decent stack going into Day 5. I had 3-bet jammed AcQc against him in an earlier spot (about 20bbs) and he snapped with KhQh for half his stack. I normally showed up with the goods for my tournament life, he knew that, started asking a bunch of questions and I answered them all comfortably.I raised AK pre-flop and Heinz flats with 55 and so does another player. Flop comes Ks8d5d and I'm concerned about flush draw, 6x7x, or possible set. I bet flop for value, he flats, other guy folds. The turn is relatively blank with a 7s, I'm still ahead of flush draws (namely KdQd), a pair of 7's if he had 67, only losing to a set and there's a remote chance he has 69 for the nuts, but highly unlikely. I bet the turn and he just CALLS again! Most sets raise in that spot and put me to a tough decision. Now I'm convinced he has Kx with possible diamond draw. The river brings me 2-pair (not completing any additional straights or flushes, usually not a good card tho bc kills my action if he has KQ and he can't have many 2-pair hands to pay me off), but was pretty much shipping any non-diamond for value because my remaining stack was only a half pot-size bet. I can get some calls with Kx, some fold equity from the same hand (AK), and if he has a busted draw I scoop the pot without having to show my cards. The only reason I did show was based on our table talk. The game flow was great at our table and I had a very balanced range throughout the day (i.e. shipping with AQ one hand and folding it the very next or folding 2nd pair to Antonio heads up and showing it, which came after trapping him with 4c6c in a prior hand). Vivek stayed out of my way and we checked down a lot of hands. Once I make the shove on the river Heinz almost snap called, then sat back, told me he could beat AK and I sure wanted to gulp! I obviously knew he had a set at this point and told him "pocket 77s would be a tough lay down." Heinz asked if I'd show if he folds and I said very genuinely, "yes, I'll show" which usually means your weak and we both knew that so then told him how much I respect his play, which was true and genuine. Then tells me, "you know I'm going to hate myself if I fold and I'm wrong," so I take off my sunglasses, look him in the eye and said, "I understand, but know you'll make the right decision." He folds but the cards were still sitting in front of him and made sure the dealer touched it to the muck before we showed. Antonio and Vivek had a 5k side bet where Antonio won believing Heinz had exactly 55 and Vivek would've won if Heinz had any other hand. TV did not do this hand justice, haha...
