+Devo if the axle is causing you issues and wont let you install, i suggest removing the axle completely - just 6 hex bolts

+Mark Thacker hello, the axle splines should go through the hub with ease and then the hub assembly should be aligned and slide through the spindle block. you may need to put some grease on the hub-to-spindle surfaces to help you out. hope that helps.

Other guys are saying the four bearing bolts get torqued to 220lb. Where
did you hear the 133 number?

forums say 133 ft-lbs for the hub assembly. 220 is for the big front caliper bolts. 220 is way too much for the smaller hub assembly bolts anyways. they are smaller than lug nuts and those are to 140.

47773 1/2 in. Drive by 18mm Shallow Impact Socket, Cr-V, 6-Point. And two
other sockets other 15mm and 19mm. Did you use all 1/2" and they fit well
in the tight spaces at the back of the hub? 18" Torque wrench, 1/2" drive
24" and 18" breaker bar, and some other stuff. Thanks!

+DevoI know...But I want to do it. Someone was going to install my part for $150 but i decided to take on the challenge. Two mo ago here in MD, a mechanic replaced the driver side hub assembly for $500. They want the same $500 for the passenger side. I didn't think it was a fair price...Dont worry I can do it if a have the right tools....Thanks!

Hi - I suggest you get someone who is more familiar with cars to either help you, or do it for you. A mechanic at a shop should be able to do it in 2-4 hours if theyve done it before. That's 200-400$ done professionally. Given that the hubs on amazon are a fraction of the oem price from the dealership, the labour cost isnt that much.

well you will need an imperial and metric 1/2" socket set and wrenches right away. a flat head screwdriver is needed for the axle nut cap/cover. as for the CV axle nut, get a 6 point 36mm socket. you may want to actually check online to make sure the 1500 has the same size nut as the 2500 trucks. you will also need a breaker bar, jack, jack stands, etc. the only odd tool required that most people dont have on hand is the 36mm socket. make sure you have some penetrating oil or WD40 to help loosen some nuts. make sure all the nuts are torqued to spec since this is very critial parts of the vehicle. you do not want your caliper falling off. check online forums or the service manual for exact torque specs. i was doing it from memory.
