I wanted to say thanks for the videos. They have helped a lot. I have never
worked on an axle. I was a little scared, but I have tackled this project
and it is going well. I found a lot of problems which have caused me to
order some extra parts that I was not expecting, but it is working out.
Don't know that I would want to do it again, but oh well. Thanks again.
Great video, thanks for taking the time to make it. I found the people out
in Utah that you were referencing and they are Ventures_Truck_Parts. I
found them easily when i went to eBay. they have a huge selection of of
Dana and Dana-Spicer parts. We are getting ready to do full ball-joints,
seals and hub bearing assemblies change out on my sons truck. Thanks to
your mentioning these guys from Utah, you saved me quite a bit of money and
gave me a better choice of better quality of u joints and ball-joints. In
my opinion you can't get better quality or more heavy duty than Dana parts.
I own some semi's and that's all that's underneath them. There's a reason
for that. I didn't even know Dana offered ball joints and u joints for our
f350s prior to this. Thanks again.
Thanks for the advice. Kids are grown and moved out. Wife has lived this life before. She understands. Hoping to get on with a local company here. Already found out about the "bigger" companies. LOL. Thanks and take care.
Best wishes to you on the truck driving school. Have been in the trucking industry for a very long time. Make sure you get in with a good company. Bigger is not always better when it comes to selecting a company to work for. All of them will tell you what you want to hear so you will go to work for them. Make sure your wife and children if you are married and or have kids understand that you will be gone from home for lengthy periods of time. I am only saying this as advice from my personal experience that trucking can be very trying on a marriage and your kids.
glad i could be if help. when i started that project I could not find hardly anything on the proceedures. im actually entered into truck driving school next week to obtain my cdl license.
Great video series. I'm working on my 2002 F250 right now. Did you have the
phone number for the Utah company that you bought the Spicer Master Seal
Kit from? I think I found it (and I'm in Utah), but wanted to make sure.
Thanks again for making these helpful videos.
That does help, but I noticed that where the bearing rides the Axel was very chewed up so I had to buy a new front outer shaft. After the truck has 150K on those parts they are not easy to get apart. Thanks for the video.
Hey Lone Ranger, I hope im not to late in my response to your question. I used . a big punch and a 4 pound hammer to beat it out of the Hub Housing. The axle came out along with the seal, and once I freed the seal from the housing I just used a small cold chisel to remove the seal from the axle. I hope this helps!
Loose Front Differential in FJ Cruiser
Hey everyone, so after my little accident this weekend I decided to film this quick video to show what caused my oil pan to get punctured and leak. Beware of this!
