Softball Overview : How to Throw a Softball
Throwing a softball involves holding the ball with a good grip without palming it and finding the seams to push off with the fingers. Throw a softball with tips from ...
Horrible mechanics. This should be used as an instructional on what you
don't want your mechanics to look like. The absolute lack of proper
mechanics is absurd. Dropping your throwing elbow like that is a great way
to end your career before it begins. Front shoulder and elbow (chicken
wing) drive is non-existent; which translates into the elbow snap on the
throwing arm. Beginning players/youth: Please find a different video to
watch if you are looking for proper mechanics.
Sorry that is not what you want to do with your glove side hand! You want
to utilize that front side shoulder to drive down and roll your glove into
the pocket of your armpit. You want to stay tight and compact. I have
honestly never seen anyone throw their glove behind their back???
@ICHOTHARRIS this IS how you throw a softball. You don't pitch it all
around the infield, silly. (I know how to throw. I'm looking at this to
remind myself of the right grip; my baseball playing bro taught me to do a
2-seam fastball and I'm trying to unlearn it)
@scsnapper hey! im one of the best players on my team and im only 4 ft 9
inches and im a cathcer ive been hit with flying bats and almost broke my
wrist i know a lot about softball and no one throws like that
Are you happy that you have now shown thousands of people the INCORRECT way
to throw??? I feel bad for anyone that actually tries to emulate the worst
mechanics I have seen in my life.
Girl tries to help out some beginners and all you idiots want to do is sit
back and try to pick her apart. Ya''ll are probably band geeks.... LOL!!!
Couldn't make the team in school.
mechanics are poor. Follow this advice and you will be both unsafe and
ineffective. Throwing power comes from weight transfer (one leg to another)
and hip turn. Bad, bad stuff here.
I used to play a lot baseball but now I'm practicing Softball, And
techniques are always required to avoid injuries, and comfortable when
playing, thank for your explanations.
Wouldnt you show the ball?Like i was always tought to show the ball when
your at the "t" position,if you notice she cuffs it under so her hand
covers it.
I throw side arm and I've been trying to stop but every time I try and
throw differently I feel like I'm not doing it right.
Softball Overview : How to Play Shortstop in Softball
Playing shortstop in softball requires good communication with other infielders, a strong arm and agility. Play shortstop in softball with tips from a former ...
No mention of relays....it took two minutes for her to say a shortstop has
to have an arm , communicate with 3d base, pitcher, and catcher...people
this is the worst puke pile I have ever watched.....and I thought maybe
when she called for the ground balls she might make up for her brutal
"tips" ....lol like she showing fundamentals of a shortstop but doesn't
even throw a ball....just flips them back to the side......
hello my name is brielle. i am currently an eighth grade shortstop player,
this is my first year playing organized softball and i am starting already,
i would like to think that im doing well but i need some help on things
like how to create a double play etc, please reply to me with every tip you
can give a beginning shortstop, thank you
I'm left-handed and a shortstop. in AAA baseball. Righties need to shut the
fuck up. I can play better than any righty SS that i have play against.
most of the coaches didn't want me because i'm a lefty but when they saw
that i threw 97mph to first. You know what the deal.
@scaRred3e i also have that problem to like whenever i get the ball i get
really panicy!!! Like i get confused on where to throw the ball but what i
do now is already know where they play is going to be before the batter
hits and that helps me out a lot!
I am a pitcher in my team, but i dun really know how to communicate with my
team mates. As a ''super senior'' as well as a captain, I really very
worried.
Softball Overview : How to Play Catcher in Softball
Playing catcher in softball requires the right equipment, communication with every player and being able to catch low balls and block home plate. Play catcher in ...
Okay guys, she's right. On any pitch you want to get your body behind the
ball...That's why you have gear. But you SHOULD although it's not a
necessity (if you want to hurt your hand you can, it's your choice) tuck
your hand behind your back or behind your leg to avoid it getting hit. And
dropping to your knees or is not going to affect what the ump calls. He
sees where the ball goes and sometimes, maybe it will, but not most of the
time. They usually look at your glove. I'm a catcher, I know :D
exuse me this is how u catch i acutally catch an i use two hands thats what
pros have told me and if u watch professional softbal like college ALL OF
THE CATCHERS DROP TO THEIR KNEES AND UPP DOESNT CALL IT A BALL AND I DO
THAT TO ND NEVER GET CALLED A BALL UNLESS IT REALLY IS ONE SO SHUT UP CAUSE
U GUYS DONT KNOW ANTTHING ABOUT BEING A CATHER THIS VIDEO IS GOOD
softball angel, if you got advice from a professional your making it up
because there is no PROFESSIONAL SOFTBALL!! and some can throw to a
velosity that if you did catch with two hands the hand not in your catchers
mitt would be in extreme pain...if it was slow pitch like in this video
sure but not fast pitch...
she forgot to tell that as a catcher that you CAN catch foul balls for the
out! Even If the batter tips the ball with his or her bat, the catcher can
catch that for the out. Catcher can catch any nearby foul balls for the
out. That's why the catcher has more opportunities to make outs than right
field.
ya i know!!! people dont know what they are talking about!! she is doing
everything correctly!! my trainer is a college level catcher and thats how
you do it (just she doesnt have the secondary stance and thats fine cause
this is probally for beginners)
Ok so 1st if ur playin sb you u DO NOT catch like tht. Knees even (as in
top) enough apart so tht u can go down. NEVER use 2 hand. If the ball
doesnt go less thn an inch of where ur position ur gonna break fingers.
actually her stance is right that is the first stance and you arnt sopost
be on the balls on your feet cuz your not balance. i know this because i
get a trained by a girl who is in a college level catcher.
ummm...i'm pretty sure your not suppose to be on the balls of your feet.
thats not stable, and you can fall over easily...pretty sure your suppose
to be on the insides of your feet.
