I was opening all of Office 2010 on Window 7 x64. System specs: Intel Core i7 2600k @ 5.0Ghz (watercooled) 2 x 4GB Corsair Vengeance RAM Intel® P67(B3) ...
@EamonnDH I think OCZ's quoted figures are using the Atto Benchmark so give
that a go. Other than that try playing around with your stripe sizes, most
people recommend 64kb or 128kb. Make sure your storage controllers have the
latest drivers. Most of all try not to stress too much about sequential
read, it's random IOPS that really determines how fast windows boots or how
quickly apps launch. If your setup feels fast enough then forget the
benchmarks ;).
@poisonr There are a few videos on YouTube of large SSD stripes. Search
"Samsung SSD Awesomeness" to see the first really popular one. What happens
though is that the marginal improvement from each additional drive
diminishes. You start becoming limited by other factors such as the quality
of the controller and PCIe bandwidth etc. I haven't seen many systems top
2GB/s even ones costing tens of thousands of dollars.
@BroknSircut My 60gb Agility 3 died after 2 months, started not recognising
the OS on it after a cold boot but eventually was fine, but then one time
it never worked. Showed a green light but nothing I connected it to
recognised it. Returned it to SCAN they tested and have sent a replacement.
This time I am going to install a genuine version of Windows 7, update the
Mobo bios and try RAID0 it with another one.
@BroknSircut I didn't find too many issues with the drives when I was doing
my research. If something does happen, OCZ have great customer service so
it should be reasonable easy to get a RMA. This the warranty against faults
is 3 years with OCZ and most retailers give you a 1 year warranty so you
can replace it directly through them.
@rabinzx the agility series uses a sanforce based chipset. basically the
higher the compression rate of the data the faster the drive will perform.
the test you are using might not be using compressible data hence the
slower speeds. there should be an option to turn the data type to 0x00 or
something like that. good luck.
@poisonr Good luck, make sure you have PCIe 2.0 and find a PCIe 4x
controller though otherwise you're going to be bottlenecked by PCIe
bandwidth. Most controllers are PCIe 1x unfortunately. Highpoint RocketRaid
640 is the only SATA III controller I know of which uses PCIe 2x, can't
think of any PCIe 4x controllers though.
@rabinzx The raid controller on your mb is likely the culprit. I'm using a
p67 chipset. Whatever the case, it's random read/write which you should
really be focused on. Sequential read is only useful for transferring large
and you would have too many of those on your primary drive anyway.
@matteuklol No. To my knowledge that is impossible at the moment, but
garbage collect still does the trick. I've run these drives 24/7 for the
last few months and have notices not performance drop. Plus I reformat my
system drives twice a year anyway. Just make sure to do a clean wipe.
@EamonnDH Did you ever get past the 500mb/s? And are you using a raid
controller card or just the board? Most boards will max out and with a raid
controller (as you already know) you can get the max from the 2 drives in
raid 0.
@g0left1 They are 60 gig drives. Much cheaper now than they used to be. I'd
go for the Vertex 3s if you're in the market. Although other companies may
have even better offerings, I haven't been keeping up.
I noticed the GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD7 board has 8 sata III and you can put 6
drives in a raid 0. Can someone put 6 ocz agility 3 drives in a raid 0 and
let me know what your atto scores are? thanks
@nikanj In CDM, if you use compressive data (under " File" ), the result
will be much faster. I tested on ATTO, gives me 800mb/s read, 1000 mb/s
write.
Just wondering if ANYONE is haveing any problems with this drive dieing or
not showing up in the bios. Just wondering before it buy it... please
respond
@heartsineurope @heartsineurope Google, the bord has non of that on there.
It's ITX not ATX etc. Just the Z68 doing the work! I don't run anything
less than SATA III (6GBP/s) so no! Only bench on the SSD speed is here that
i did on hard forums post 1625751
just exactly what i was looking for .. can u post benchmarks using native
intel sata 3 in raid 0 (not Marvell ports) .. cheers .. just curios of your
read write speeds a seq level
Products like were made before SSDs dropped to the more affordable levels they are now. When I made this video a 240gb SSD was over $300.
Unboxing/Hands-on - Mushkin Chronos 120GB SSD

wil. Ik vraag me af waneer jullie hem beantwoorden alvast bedankt. Ps.
Leuke videoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Ga zo door
