Vegas is a fairly decent place to live with or without a family. The one thing that sucks is the heat, it's gets so damn hot in the summer! You never get used to it either. However, the winters like now are awesome!

Yes, no other city in the US has changed the most with the heat island than Las Vegas. The problem needs to be solved since it can provide much needed heat relief and lessen the negative stereotype of Las Vegas the prevent population and economic growth. On a typical low temperature of July, the Strip is 81, Summerlin and Centennial Hills is 77, and Pahrump is 69 which all have similar elevation and latitudes.

What was the population of the Las Vegas population between 1940-1950? Probably under 50,000. So yes, development results in a heat island. Even in Summerlin and the west side, many summer nights are well into the 80's. Air conditioning solved that issue.

Winter time here in Las Vegas is outdoor time. November -May before or after the summer heat. It may freeze at night in winter but typically daytime temperatures are around 60 mid day. Use that for your outdoor time.

Yes, but do you still think that if Las Vegas went back to its 1940's summers with some nights in the 60's can make a difference?

LOL. I did put some weight on pretty quickly after I switched from doing a ton of cardio, but I added it on the right way, and am happy with my progress. You're right that the weight loss/nutrition arena is really saturated. I wouldn't want to do a channel on it. I like the challenge of being disciplined in improving my physique, but I still think my knowledge base is not that big yet. That and there are other things I enjoy spending my time on even more

+JacobslifeinVegas At first when I saw this video, I was like damn did he gain the weight back already? Then I saw the publishing date. Lol! You need to start a new channel on weight loss. Don't waste that topic and besides everyone does it. :-)

+Cyrus992 Wake up? Kid, I've lived here since 95 and I've noticed that it's gotten significantly hotter over the years. You can add people to that heat as well. The increase in population contributes to that and a long with the climate change. Regardless 10-15 years ago it's hot and all I know is it keeps getting hotter.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+JacobslifeinVegas I've lived in Vegas since 95, it's still hot as hell.

+AC Levi I'd say it's all in a matter of perspective. I grew up in Modesto, CA, which gets plenty of dry, triple digit heat in the summer time. If you're from Seattle then the summers in Vegas probably feel brutal. Winter is nice out here during the day. It's just when the sun goes down that the temperature feels like it drops like a rock. Throw in the wind, and then it really feels COLD!
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-r9kH86F_58o/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAB8/JnOLrhY65C0/photo.jpg?sz=64
+AC Levi That is because the heat is artificial. That is right! Las Vegas has a fake climate. This is caused by the artificial heat island effect that absorbs heat in the pavements and buildings. Las Vegas has been affected the worst than any major US city. Wake up! The summers now have temps hitting around 105 and by midnight it would ONLY cool down to around 97. This should not be the case! In the 1940's, highs would hit around 101 and the overnight low temperature was around 74. This is a large difference and is the real climate of Las Vegas! In fact you should compare temperatures from the Strip vs. nearby towns like Indian Springs and Pahrump with similar elevation and latitude. You will see a large difference. Their nights can even cool down to the 60's in the summer! The later phases of the Summerlin master-plan will build homes at around 4,000 ft. elevation. That should help you.
