How well have these engines held up in comparison to kohler and Briggs? I have 1700 hours on my kohler 23 on my gravely mower, Been through all kinds of blades, belts, and spindles on the mower frame, but the engine still runs strong and cranks right up. I saw there are vertical shaft diesels on ebay I may be inclined to get one and hold as a spare for when the kohler finally gives out.

@1pinchipendejo The level of torque only indicates where in the rev range the engine will develop its best power. These industrial diesels are usually designed for peak power @ 3600. Therefore if this engine is 25bhp, it will develop 36.5 lbs/ft @ 3600. Hillclimbing rate will be exactly as you would expect fron 25 bhp regardless of fuel type.
