Think about this: If you learn an acrobatic sport like trial biking, a certain class of muscles, required for balance, and tighltly dosed and timed movements is involved. (Actually this muscle- and balance apparatus beeing strongly involved is what makes a sport acrobatic) If you are an average person, probably these muscles and your control over them is in consequence averagely developed. Unless you have perfect genetics for it or practiced another acrobatic sport before (which often comes with your talent for it), you will simply need more time to adapt to the new task, since physical adaptions are underlying such top-notch level skills with a vast repertoire of well studied movements and these take time to happen. If you start from zero, you won't be able to train every day, the hangover is really huge, especially in your hands, your upper arms, your shoulders, your lower back and your legs.
2 months??? bollocks!!! takes a bit of time to go through multiple bike
parts, to find out which setup suites you best.. Stem lengths, bar height /
rake / width.. crank arm length, etc etc, which all lead in to your bodies
natural center of gravity.. I have been riding 20" trials for about a
month.. and im nowhere upto that standard.. only just learning pedal kick
hops.. and i came to trials, from riding BMX for 10 years and being
sponsored by Haro Bikes...
I had a friend who taught me rear wheel jump in a matter of a Day, even though i didn't master it until i got my own to start jumping on shit. if you learn to truly understand the concept of the function and actually jumps into it taking the risk of No pain, No gain it's quite possible to learn things fast but it takes longer to master it.. Who know how many takes of recordings it took until the dude was happy with the result?
Me too, from my experience it is not easy to find people to do extreme sports together. Rock climbing, racing, enduro, etc. Only when I go to certain area I see them but very far away.
+Leon Rowe Also the time you put in, who you trial with, teaching materials. If the kid puts all his spare time into trial. watch trials tutorial, practice with competent people. His progress is not surprised.I learned trial wheelie on my MTB 1 day. (sitting, not standing)Very important is to practice trial with friends, it causes competition and learning.
Well the title says 2 months.. But within the video information.. it says 5 months! so defo some BS there somewhere. Either way.. Ive rode BMX for nearly 10 years. Sponcered and ride Competitions, i also ride motocross too, and still unable to do what he is doing, in just two months.. Feeling and bike setup takes time..
Not unless you already have a vague idea of whats going on I guess however I cant prove that he has or hasn't but much like you (and this is a guess) I don't like misleading titles to video's
You can learn to trial on whatever bike you have. I used to ride motorbike trials and after that would plod about on specialized stumpjumper. I have an old monty now with bent crank arms and wobbly stem but that means nothing. I can still ride it.
