Edison Light Bulb - Thomas Edison invention DC vs AC power
Another Atco's Collections Video - I was at Goodwill the other day and bought a replica of the original 1879 Thomas Edison electric light bulb. It made me think ...
Nice Video, Thank you. Your version of history was what I call the
"Marshmallow Propaganda" version.
Edison was a Capitalist - he was not a nerdy inventor and did not "try a
thousand different materials" he hired poor people to work for him - then
put his name on the patents. He viciously electrocuted many animals in an
effort to destroy Tesla's AC although he knew very well it was better.
Edison would lie cheat and steal if it meant making another dollar. In my
opinion he deserves NO respect as an inventor for anything with his name on
it (except the electric chair) he was good at killing people!
And FYI
There were so many wind turbines across the midwest USA that SEARS produced
a line of DC products that were being used long before the REA (Rural
Electrification Authority) forced farmers and homeowners to destroy their
wind turbines before they could hook up to the electric Grid. Imagine if
small wind had been encouraged at that time instead of being destroyed in
the name of electric company profits !?!?!?
History is not so pretty as propaganda ! Bravo mr Edison (douche bag)
Helped set the human race back at least 100 yrs. in the name of
intellectual property and profits....
Yes I am angry at Edison douche bags that win because they have money - not
because they are smart.
TESLA RULES>
+Harold Westrich Harold, interesting view. Edison became rich from opening new industries. Yeah, like football QBs, they get all the credit when there is so much behind the doors that are done and don't get any of the credit. But it takes a strong business man to get a new industry started. My view of Edison is still very high as a inventor and business man but yes he did have his bad sides too. He realized that Tesla's AC was a better way to power then his DC. But he had put out a lot of DC power supplies and so many people now working for him doing his DC business, how much pressure he had to try to keep his DC working. All those hours, all those workers are going to lose their jobs. That is pressure. Now, a really true inventor is Nikola Tesla. If he was more of a business man then Edison, who knows how different the world would be if he was able to push his inventions into the business world. Thanks for your comment. -- Atco
Hi - Sorry I only just saw your comment - you will need to work out which
wires are the power for the stop light and tail light. Did you buy it from
us? The reason I ask is that ours earth thru the body. So one wire for the
stop light goes to one connection, the tail light to the other and once the
light is attached to a metal surface it should work.
