Ebola Virus Patient Arrives In Georgia...Where I Live!
Ebola virus patient, Dr. Kent Brantly, is being treated at Emory University Hospital in Georgia making him the first Ebola patient to be treated on United States soil ...
I think it was a good thing that he was brought to the US, because this
exposes the western world directly to the disease, and as long as they keep
it under control, science is given an opportunity to study the disease
further and devise treatments.
+That Was History Also I am sure the precautions they are taking here in Atlanta are far superior, I would hope than the measures they take in Africa. A hospital worker in Africa could easily contracts it from a patient without knowing it, kisses her relative goodbye as he is flying to N.Y. to visit their cousins and bamb, millions could be exposed!I just watched "And the Band Played On" again, an excellent movie about how we can't ignore these issues and we must nip em in the bud, sorta speak. Thanks for inserting some sanity! I flew into Savanna twice and drove to Walthourville, bout 40 miles west. Love that City.
Also this article that I read says that a certain strain of ebola could
have mutated the capabilities of being airborne.

So again, stay safe. Put as many miles you can between you and that
hospital.
+jemonaco A vaccine is not a cure. A vaccine is a weakened form of the virus that is injected into the body, so the immune system will be able to recognize and make antibodies for the virus. A cure is after you get infected. A cure that is about 100% effective is virtually impossible with current, mainstream technology. However, there is probably a lab somewhere in the world that I don't know about working on it.
in my opinion he should have been treated in a isolated/off shore medical
center specially equipped for disease's such as this. Not In a (while well
prepared) mainland hospital where one mistake could be catastrophic.
I think there is little real danger Emory has one of the best medical research hospitals in the world and is nearly adjacent to the CDC. I hope improved treatment, cure, and prevention will follow from the effort.
