I live in Atlanta today, and I can tell you that now nearly 4 decades
later, it's not a whole lot better. In fact, it's worse. The metropolitan
area has grown exponentially since this film was made, and there is MORE
traffic and there are more planes flying into ATL daily. An entire town
near the airport was abandoned in this time because of noise concerns.
I'm working on urban noise research today and it's unfortunate that it has
been de-prioritized. People need to understand that noise pollution is much
more widespread than air pollution yet we hardly pay attention. More
traffic = more noise.
