We shouldn't be too fast judging the bus driver. It's difficult to see
what's in from of him.
According to me that Renault 5 slowed down to an extremely low speed to
take the exit, which is totally unnecessary and dangerous. The Renault
Kangoo (the white van) was unnessarily driving in the center lane, slower
than the bus, forcing the bus to pass him by right (which is forbidden, but
driving on the third lane is also forbidden for the bus). The consequence
is that the white van ended up in the dead angle of the bus, so when the
bus wanted to pass the idiot Renault 5 driver, he couldn't have seen the
white van in his dead angle.
If I was in the situation of the white van and noticed the bus, I would
have hit the gas to make sure I'm ahead of the bus instead of slowing down
and drifting to the third line (where the driver of the video was) which
was more dangerous.
So to my eyes the responsibility goes to the Renault 5 first, then the
white van, then the bus as last.
+john b Thanks for your comment ;) The responsibility goes to the bus driver at 100%. Look at 0:47, he saw the Renault Kangoo and the dead angle is not an excuse. When you are driving, it's for you to pay attention with your dead angle and not for the other driver. The bus driver had to slow down instead of overtaking the Renault 5 like that. The only explanation is that the bus was driven by a lazy man/women who didn't wanted to disable the cruise control to slow down and then enable it after overtaking ;) A lot of truckers and bus drivers all over the world do dangerous overtakings just because they don't want to disable their cruise control, even car drivers sometimes... ;)Apart from that it's true that the Renault Kangoo driver should have accelerated a little bit more to overtake the bus faster instead of going at 100-110kph while it's allowed to go at 120kph.
Slowness on the way home. Looks like there was an accident or stop on the HOV lane and also perhaps some guy's car exploded. I think I topped off at 90mph.
