This performance is phenomenal. But I must disagree a lit bit with the
direction of the video. This is about a primitive rite, a pagan dance. A
rhythm violent and insistent to the point of madness. "The chosen one" is
in the middle of the circle, caught in a terrifying, crazed orgy from which
there is no way out. She is dancing to death. The inclusion of masks and
references to "horror" as understood in horror films were a little bit
cheap and superficial to me. I feel like all the flashing visuals weakened
the essential element of insistent movement in this music.
It is a video, they probably added that so it would be more entertaining!
or to add symbolism. And yes, burning your instrument is not exactly the
best thing to do. But if you look at all the guitarists out there who break
guitars on stage, and burn and to a whole bunch of other things. It is a
form of art. Death is a form of art. And that is a great way to display
such events.
This is absolutely unreal. You guys did an amazing job, the raw emotion and
passion put into the performance truly captures what I believe Stravinsky
intended. And also what an amazing transcription! I've heard plenty of four
hand versions, but this one is unbelievable. What amazing art you've made.

Also, I really love your little notes about the music in the descriptions
for each video. Could you please release them all in a DOC file in any
future archives you make (like Season 4... hint hint)? The Lord of the
Rings Complete Recordings had an annotated score in a PDF, so you could
read the notes while listening - would be nice to do something like that
with your notes while listening to your FLACs.
haha--maybe I'll just make some sort of little "cover booklet" for EQG and Season 3 when I get some time that could include these. Could be a fun little project. I'll definitely also consider continuously updating one during season 4.
Is there a specific reason why the archives only have the 25 background
songs, without the main vocal ones? It's a bit of a pain having to download
each of the missing songs separately.
Wow--thanks for pointing this out! I had the songs up in an archive originally, but when I added the BGM, I must have forgot to add the songs back into the archive.I have now uploaded separate ZIP files containing the songs and their instrumentals. The can be found at the same link in the description. Thanks again for pointing this out! :)
