Check Engine Light P0420. looks like i'll have to remove the 3 amigos bolts and replace the donut gasket... EDIT: details about video. I was getting frequent ...
oh~ hhaha, it's just soap water (Tide and some water) to determine if the
pipe leaks. i got p0420 before too. first thing i checked was to make sure
exhaust pipe wasn't leaking. so here's the video of the "first test"..
na, i got the donut gaskets from Toyota dealer. the video shows that the
pipe is leaking with the old donut gaskets. I went ahead and replaced it. I
haven't had P0420 come up since....
@toyota4life94 not sure what to tell you for your highlander... mine was
triggered because the Donut Gaskets were "leaking".. you might want to
test for any leaks. worth a try :)
yea.. so the story is, i got P0420. found the leak in my system. i got new
donut gaskets in, tightened the "3 amigos" to the spec. then deleted the
code. code never came back.
god damn ... your car is misfiring and breaking your cats. casual
intermittent misfires ... did you change the sparks ? converters dont just
die, they die for a reason, misfiring rough idle ...

+Twin Cities Dashcam East coast all the way. Just lucked out so far. Then again, this is the 5th or 6th exhaust setup so the pipes will at least look a little ok.
