Snapping oneself out of the destructiveness of procrastination can be a
challenge. One thing to remind oneself is that we can not trust or identify
with our thoughts - especially the ones that keep us in the status quo.
That is mostly all kinds of thoughts related to reasoning why one should
not take action right now. What are thoughts anyway? They come and go
(read: get born and die) - if we are our thoughts we should also be being
born and dying all the time. So - no reason to take any thoughts of ours
seriously - just don't pay attention to them or be aware of thoughts being
like clowns who entertain us without us needing to analyze what exactly or
why the clown is doing those things.
I feel so confused about what is my problem. I have my goals and my reasons
to do them but I overprocastinate so much, I'm too lazy, I get distracted
easily, I have no trust on what I do, I don't trust the designs i deliver
on my graphics design college, I have the worst memory ever. Where the hell
do I find the leverage to stop doing nothing with my life? In 24 I went to
UPW I think 3 years ago and as I always say I lost momentum.
+Dan_VG same situation, the memory thing sux. and i hear you on laziness. my suggestion is jump in the water with both feet. pick a program, course project and just pay or sign the dotted line. something that you cannot possibly mess up otherwise your life will change drastically. like losing your job or your rent or whatever. if you are not self motivated , the fear should drive you. fear and anger are some of most powerful motivators. the issue is joy of pleasure in the moment over shadows the long term pleasure for you. laziness now is providing and instant pleasure, you are in your comfort zone and that feels good. so break the cycle. just gather enough courage to go and sign a dotted line and that fear should drive you. If you failed you are still winning since you'd be at rock bottom and there wont be no way but up.
First stop looking for a external answer. Sit by yourself with zero distractions and ask yourself this and wait. You will get what you seek. You already know. Trust me, external never leads to internal knowledge.
Loved the points you bring up Stefan, It's right on point. Never been a TV
or social media person though...Parents are big tv people and they'd just
sit in front of the tv day after day and it was always on, people at work
thinks it's weird I don't have netflix or watch tv shows. haha Can't stand
watching tv!
+goldsilverandiamonds I was thinking the same kkkk
Work Hard? Jeb Bush Has A Plan For You & You're Not Gonna Like It
"Jeb Bush wants to push back the retirement age for Social Security by as many as five years. Instead of allowing Americans to collect full benefits at age 65, the ...
+FreeManWalking It doesnt matter who is put into office, that person will be forced to push the agenda. The president is nothing but a mere frontman and spokesperson. Its the machine behind the "president" that makes the decisions.
+Calvin edward Than it's times to put that sick demi-dictatorship animal down and bring him to the slaughterhouse of people's revolution!Let's hope Bernie or Rand can get it, to save us the suffering.
what are you trying to portray in your rant, the fact is all population in
western countries are aging..... you just make a bunch of unfounded
assertions, with aging population more people will be in the future
receiving this, so lets actually look at it now so your children can
actually still have this social security
+Matan Pulverman umm the social security money is in trust funds that invest the money and collect interest, it's like you're learning what goes in sausages
+Matan Pulverman "The fact of the matter is that inflation is draining the value of the money constantly, so even if we do get the money back, it will be worth much, much less." that's why such funds should be managed in investment programs rather than just sitting in banksand do you have any evidence of any intentions to eliminate SS
+Matan Pulverman i sort of agree, such as system should be a voluntary opt in or opt out tax super savings system, with individual accounts, that can be personally managed or handled by different investment management systems, somewhat of a government encourage savings and investments program, and how exactly do you not think you get any thing back from social security, so long as you actually live a decent life and take care of yourself you should be able to be paid to live in your retirement for a good decade or two.
"When they quit, I work harder." //www.facebook.com/ThereseMoserShowjumping I must admit I love this video, personally I think it's one of the best; and ...
I just bought an arabian my confidence is crushed from recent accident so I
left my old barn cause everyone told me to take it easy go slow ride this
slow pony I can't do that if I want to win they tried to hold me back
telling me I was a poor rider I can't do it so I left and bought a full
blooded arab I wasn't stupid I was going with my heart I love him but he
runs off from me he trys to buck refuse when I'm riding him he spooks at
everything but I want to show the pepole telling me that I can't do it to
wow she did it with that arabian ): any advice would be nice I'm scared but
yet confident
I'm watching this video right now for a reason I'm giving up on a pony that
I ride I feel like it's just waste of my time my effort and I wanna be done
in not improving at all
Ya know after a while I finely cracked I had a mental brake down that went on for weeks I cried and didn't let anyone see it even my parents and my parents kept asking me why I was so misurible and after a while I said because I can't do it anymore it just felt like I was dying on the inside I didn't even know why... now I'm still with the little jerk but I still have brake downs every ones in a while but I get through it
+Jordan Leonard I feel the same way right now. I feel like no matter how hard I try me and my horse are getting nowhere, sometimes I just think what's the point, but then I look at this video and its just so inspiring that it makes me realise that its all worth it.
I had to ride a huge Clydesdale-thoroughbred mix, Billy. He would randomly bolt, jump, buck, rear, freeze and what not else. I fell more times than I can count. At one point I honestly thought I broke my back because it hurt so much and he was such a beast. So you know what I did? I got back on. And started from the beginning, just walking, then trotting, then cantering and so on. The same thing happened. I got back on again. Eventually... Success.Another horse, thoroughbred, his name was Whirlwind. He was a racing horse. His owners had ditched him and he hadn't been ridden for over two years. He would go through random periods of not responding, to being obedient, to being wild. He would get tired easily and fall behind and then he would panic when the other horses got too far ahead. I'd say he was harder to work with than Billy. But I kept trying. I fell, I sprained, I bruised, I hurt, it was agony. But hey, he is not getting rid of me that easy. Try. Fail. Try, Fail.Try..... Succeed. It takes time, it takes tears, it takes blood and effort. but if you trust that horse no matter what it puts you through, no matter how much harder it becomes to trust it, no matter how far it pushes your limits, you get back on that horse! But I understand how easy it is give up, and I am not hating on you by saying this. I gave up once too. it was too much and I couldn't handle it. I had to stop. So I did. I stopped. We found her a new rider, it took him a couple of years, but they were inseparable after that. Sometimes you must weigh your and your pony's best interests. What is the outcome if you succeed? What will happen if you give up?I give no motivation by telling you this, but I hope you'll be able to make a decision.
Of course I won't cause my pony is gonna kill me before I can and I can't just try to do something else, ya know. I'm trying to stop but it's hard it's every jump hold on let me stop and try to through you that's my pony
I remember the 1st time I broke 100. About 3 weeks prior I was on 91 on the
18th tee..long par 4. I added up my score and thought I had done it even an
8 and I had done it. I had a meltdown and took 10. I vowed then never to
add my score up again except after the 9th green and after the 18th green.
3 weeks later I shot 93 for my 1st score under 100 a few weeks after that I
shot 88. My point being that sometimes we put unnecessary pressure on
ourselves. Keep focused or "in the present "as the Americans say and don't
put urself under pressure. I think it helps.
