In this Video Review, we check out the functionality of PDF files on the new $79 Kindle e-Reader! We check out a full newspaper, magazine and store purchased ...
ok, ive using ereaders for months and I have to say just like you guys can
say in the video, the pdf experience it sucks, really!. the positive side
is when you begin to understand the ebooks system you notice you must to
abandon the pdf format, you must to think ;" no way , pdf are the best way
to read books" but no, beleave me, using ebook convert files ( theres a lot
and good ones) the read experience change 100%, get nice and complete page
view, fitting to screen and really kool confort
Back light causes eye strain, it's a well known fact. I never had a problem
with lcd's for years until the day I developed strong dizziness and nausea
caused by the back light. I can read e-ink for hours without problems,
because it's like reading a piece of paper. That's the difference, you
don't see it, because you "still" don't have a problem with LCDs
For me the Kindle is still waaay too small & I don't think it is going to
be any good for tech books. So, I hope that they'll bring out a bigger,
colour one that can be read in the sun. The Mirasol technology looks good
but the ones I have seen on the Net are still far too small for my use.
Thanks for the video Marcus!
Thanks for the video. I was eagerly waiting to upgrades in pdf handling in
new kindle. But looks like there is not much change there, except it's a
bit faster. btw, i use pdfscissors to crop large pdfs for kindle 6'' (Did i
just sound like spam?)
hey, would you say it is good to read papers and journal articles? (in PDF
format) I'm doing my phd and I have to read lots of pdf papers and articles
and I was wondering if a Kindle is a good idea to read such documents, thanx
This is the very first review of any ereader viewing a D&D gaming PDF. It's
precisely what I am wanting to use it for. Thank you for showing me how it
reads. I take back what I said and spot prematurely.
I've got the Touch version with nothing but the home button on the front
and I'm finding it impossible to keep the zoom at the same level whilst I
change page...
Informative video but I think it sounds like you are filming in a public
lavatory.
How Newspapers, Magazines and PDF Files look on the Sony PRS-T1
In this video tutorial we show you how graphic heavy PDF books on the Sony PRS-T1. We also show you how Magazines and Newspapers look that you have ...
@jendit01 For PDF you can simply change the page mode to "Fit Landscape
Width" and set crop to "Auto" and it fits image PDF files perfectly. For
PDFs with real text that can be edited however, the PRS-T1 is unique in
that it can reflow the text. However...this feature means you get a large
lag/pause after turning every page as it has to keep applying this reflow.
It's also worth mentioning you can "root" this device to use other android
reader apps like CoolReader, Kindle, even the Nook apps.
It was a scanned copy, that's why its images embedded in a pdf file. So
font resizing doesn't work as it would in a regular text based pdf. Also,
it is unable to zoom beyond a certain point as that's the maximum
resolution of that image within the pdf. Try loading a pdf with a large jpg
on a single page and you could zoom in further. Also, the processor should
be sufficient. It is just the eink screen. It does a partial refresh while
zooming and then a complete refresh to load a clean image.
Do you know, that there is a feature to change the display (especially for
pdf) to some kind of column mode? There is a 2 column and a 3 column preset
and if you turn page, you go down the column first before showing the next
columns top.
That´s because of the technology the screen uses. It´s called e-ink and it
only uses battery when the content of the screen changes. So, updating the
screen causes the flickering...
@bumblesby This was a newspaper sent to us from a user asking to see how it
looked. This was the copy of the paper given to subscribers, or back
issues.
Great video again, thanks. A quicker way I use to get the file path is to
shift right click a file and that gives you the option of "file path" and
copies it to your clipboard

Obama Birth Certificate PDF file closer look is shocking
It has been confirmed by myself and others that there are indeed embedded objects or layers in the PDF document. I do not know what these objects are, and I ...
I have filed a Petition of Objection with the State of Kansas. They will
obtain a copy of Obama's long form. They will not accept any document
without an embossed dept of health seal. On Obama's COLB they went to great
lengths to show in detail the embossed seal. Show me by any means created
on this PDF long form an embossed seal from the Department of Health and
why is it so evidently clear that it is not present on this document. One
must be able to feel the seal with your hand
When you Scan to Adobe Acrobat, depending on the settings you choose, it
will detect various regions in the document. Images, regions of text, etc.
will be saved at a certain resolution within the document, and at an
appropriate compression. (This is done by Reader, not the scanner.) When
you open that document in Adobe Illustrator, you can see those different
regions. THIS DOES NOT MEAN that they were brought in manually. Try it
yourself, and you'll find this to be the case.
@pzmtuthcvpvl It's not really compression so much as it is optimization,
which is similar or a form of compression I believe. The idea is to reduce
printed words to a single bit depth (black and white), so that un-necessary
8 bit information is not kept. It works really good for just getting
information to people but it's really horrible for people trying to verify
if a document is fraud or not. So nice try Obama, but this is getting
rediculous. We need a document.
Can you tell me, WHY DO YOU THINK the clippings inside the Document have
different resoluitons.? Very easy to see yourself and less confusing for
most than LAYERS.... henrymakow >>>> Birth Certificate: Pixels Don't Lie
Where Can I get me a scanner that scans parts of the page at 800x600, and
another part of the page 1280x960? I would like to be able to pick areas
every other few centemeters for completey different resolutions in the same
scan. Thank you, Vickie
@harmono If it is so obvious a Fraud by about 99% of all videos at YT how
come nobody scream like a celebrity type Trump with his experts to show to
everybody the fraud. It should be Breaking News but so far nothing.
Google"Expert: No doubt Obama's birth certificate is legit" It is confusing
I am neutral layman trying to get the truth.I noticed the last 1 on 1961 is
straight up and not inclined. Today is May10, 2 weeks and nothing. Explain
the Google Expert.
@VWState That's an interesting theory. The problem is, the parts that are
cut out have the green background. So the layers are not just the fonts put
on the page. So essentially unless the background is a layer, it doesn't
seem likely that this is a fraud, but anything is possible. This is just an
image doc, and is not legit for proving anything. The signature is what
really prooves it. So it's fraud on the part of the administrator and Obama
if it's a fraud.
• CHECK THIS OUT! LETS SAY THEY ARE SO SMART.. That it was released in this
form to discredit "Republicans" and “Truthers”.. OK, this means they know
what we see, what all can see in a zoomed pdf copy %300 or greater, just
moving around.. They release it, looking this bad, so many artifacts that
are not consistent.. THEIR FAKE, FAKE DOCUMENT, IS SUCH A REALISTIC LOOKING
FAKE, THAT IT PROVIDES REAL EVIDENCE OF MANIPULATION, SHADY/FRAUDULENT
BEHAVIOR..
All of the varied methods of handling data, even the same data and same
characters.. The reason this is the case is that making changes by anyone
at anytime, is an attempt to manipulate the entire population, those who
support him benefit, those who do not believe he has too many secrects.
Manual edits to the document of any kind by anyone is an attempt to
Manipulate via dishonest and manipulative behavior for National and
Presidential Political purposes.
@pzmtuthcvpvl ... sorry ... hard to understand what you are trying to
say... can you explain? BTW. Here's another peculiarity: When you scan a
document and then you zoom in, everything in the scanned immage will have
soft edges... the image made up of pixles is seen as tiny squares that are
fading at the edge of each letter. In Obama's birth Certificate most of the
letters are solid, clearly indicating the document had been modified on a
computer....
@redemption6209 Perhaps you could explain this further. I am not an Adobe
expert, but from what i'm seeing there is special code in the document that
contains the images. They are embedded in the document, you can call it
links you can call it whatever you want, it's just graphical information
that is enveloped in some way or another. Meaning there is a section that
is marked with a beginning and an ending, and those sections are the layers.
@gotitans999 OCR??? Optical Character Recognition produces text... not
graphics. Look closely at the original at
whitehouse*gov/sites/default/files/rss_viewer/birth-certificate-long-form*pdf
There are so many weird things... the document curling on the left... and
the difference in blackness of the letters in the dates... etc.. etc.. Why
does the text indicate black/white scan while the background is color?
I work with technology, but with Web, not graphic design. But even with my
limited knowledge of photoshop and adobe pdf, I'm going to say that simply
converting a .jpg image into a .pdf would not create muliple layers. It's
almost like they went out of their way to make sure there was a green
background pattern, the same background pattern as the certification of
live birth has. Strange.
Do you have Adobe Bridge? They are reporting that if you open it up in
Adobe Bridge it will give you the WHEN data. Such as WHEN it was last
altered. They are saying it has been altered many, many times since October
2010. OCR scan would NOT do that. WHEN data would only pop up in a blatant
forgery. My guess is their graphic designer didn't flatten the image before
he exported the fraud.
Could the first object be the green background pattern and the second
pattern be the text. It's obvious that the text is superimposed on top of
the green basket weave background. But why would they go through the
trouble of making the birth certificate transparent and superimpose it onto
a green background? Are they intentionally playing games with Americans or
are they just plain dumb?
To start off: I am a computer engineer and I work with Adobe CSx.... If
this is really the file from the white house, there is no doubt it is a
fake birth certificate!!! All the excuses about "Hawaii has digitized their
document database, the reason the layers exist is due to the scan import"
NO!!!! Scans do not produce layers! Layers are used to alter documents,
photos etc.
