the ridges are the same spline as the rifled barrel of the mortar tube, to
fire they first insert a powder keg style charge down to th ebottom of the
tube, then the projectile gets inserted just enough to line those splines
up. next they tilt the tube up to the designated firing angle which in
turn, slides the projectile in the tube to a stop. the mortar is fired
electronicly by a remote
