Usually there is some brass in these. I haven't broken many of them down as
I don't get these often, but the ones I have seen have yellow brass for the
connectors on the inside where the plugs go in.
+John Floyd Yes, you could be right. A lot of times there is brass in the plugs and socket areas.

How Scrap Prices Are Determined At Your Scrap Yard
//iscrapapp.com - Virginia explains the basics of the several factors that affect the scrap metal prices at your local yard. The prices can change very often ...
I was wondering why some scrappers on youtube talk about getting 80 cents
to a dollar for extension cords. I took 37 pounds and it was classified as
"comp wire" and I got 46 cents a pound
Some scrap yards can payer higher pricing bc they mix all different grades of higher and lower percentage material today while other yards separate completely.
Most people don't understand what the scrap yards have to go through after
they PAY people for their scrap and still try to pay employees and the like
all the while still making some money to stay in business to be able to buy
more scrap for customers, but then again most people don't know what it
takes to run a business in the first place or what goes into having just
one employee much less having to fight the market on a day to day basis to
figure out a number to pay a customer. A good/responsible scrapper will
understand this and work accordingly for his/her best outcome.
