Thunderstorm Planespotting at O'Hare / AAL 767 on Runway 22L
I have done plane spotting in all conditions and in extreme temperatures, and this video fits into the extreme conditions category. So I decided to add this video ...
:D LOL. Thanks for the idea. Actually when I took this video you may not be
able to see it but the wind was so strong that rain is going sideways. I
had my jacket draped over my head and over the camera when I filmed this
and it almost completely blew it off. I couldn't zoom in on this shot
because I was using one hand to hold the jacket down. :)
Try searching for "camera umbrella" on Google shopping. I got a nice little
umbrella and attachment to stick it to my tripod and it allows me to shoot
in the rain without worrying about my camera. Just an idea :)
I understand you ;D i'm not that sensitive, you know ;) I love you're
comments and enjoy sharing my O'Hare magic with you guys. Yes, I like to
keep my spotting times interesting and entertaining.
Massive storm with 90MPH+ winds sweeps through O'Hare 07.01.2012
This is what happens when a storm hits a busy airport and flights get stuck on the tarmac until the skies clear enough for safe aircraft operations I'd wanted to ...
Haha thanks for noticing, Brian! I'm not afraid of a little wind, hail,
lightning, etc. When I was young, a lightning bolt hit a tree some 60 yds
away from me in my mother's hometown in Mexico. I lost part of my hearing,
but not to a severe degree. Honestly, the splinters from the tree did more
damage to my back than the thunderclap did to my ears. Ever since then,
storms just fascinate me & I don't mind getting caught in severe weather.
Thanks for watching & sharing your love for crazy weather!
You are a real trooper, Jose, but it paid off with this great filming. At
one point I thought the sky looked almost like it does preceding a tornado.
Weather was not going to get the best of you. People think I am crazy when
I bike in very cold or stormy weather but it is part of the adventure to me.
Glad you made it out of that Mexico storm alive, Jose, but sorry to hear of
your injuries. It could have been traumatizing for a young person. And
thank YOU for all of your interesting videos.
Yep, you were in Chicago that weekend. This is that same storm. We've
gotten hit a few times since then. I just wish we were through with the
heat waves.
