Hi Skip :-). Wonderful footage, as you always do :-). One request, Please? I s there any way to get more of the actual 'engine sounds', other than the whistle? Wish that 844 could come to Vancouver and then take the Sea to Sky route to Squamish and Whistler :-) Love your hard work and love of these magnificent machines. Well done!

This video is so good I could hear a loose main or side rod. Sure when they stopped they greased the side rods. The sound is so great I could almost hear Johnny Cash doing the Orange Blossom Special Thanks Skip

@trainguy3 they did that trim paint for the 50th Anniversary steam special run from Council Bluffs, IA to North Platte in Nov, 2010 to raise funds for the UP Museum there in Council Bluffs

@MrPinto1970 It's there in case 844 breaks down. Also standard practice is to have it provide some pull thus increasing the distance between water stops.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! that video was great. Made me homesick for my childhood, too. I grew up in Bellevue! IT sure has changed since the 80's, but those bluffs don't change. Not that much. Thank you for that. I got a little teary eyed. I loved going to the UP museum in Omaha. My grandfather was a big train nut, so I have a soft spot for them as well.

Too funny, Martyn. You know, I have "driven" a steam engine. Nothing nearly this powerful and large, though. This is the largest steam engine I've ever seen. It was amazing. Loud (so loud it hurt), and impressive.

It hurt my ears... I've never heard a whistle this loud. It shook my body and I had to cover my ears, because it was PAINFUL. Right next to me... I loved it.
