Yes they do 2 longs a short and a long for the crossings and as many times as possible when there is construction. All of the whistles are necessary and wonderful in this video.

Dennis, Powerful music and amazing photos... you are an inspiration. I am sorry for the loss of your student... and for the other tragedies. @Fox250R Hey, I have fun with my hobby, and that is really all that matters! And if your life is so interesting, why did you take time out of your precious day to watch and comment on a video about a topic you don't even enjoy? I don't find bird watching very exciting personally, but I would never tell someone else that it is "boring" just because I don't have an interest in it. Oh well, no damage done, and thanks for the view!

@thedricketts Since the train was only going 30 mph top speed, and made many stops along the way, it was easy to get ahead of it and set up. Planning in advance was key, too.

@stlgevo51 I was talking about the ACe in the middle of that first manifest ha :p but I'm just glad they didn't put a GEVO or something behind the 844.

Great video!! That coal train seemed to follow closely on 844's heels but I trust 844 was ell into a long siding when it was recorded.
