Once again we enter video game territory with this very requested Silent Hill nurse. Back in 1999 when the PlayStation game was released by Konami it was one ...
This might sound funny but since I don't have latex at home I just use
elmers glue with toilet paper or what ever I have around..a lot of house
hold items work great for these video well u know that..I learned that I
can make Veins using string from u guys..:)
I attended Special Effects Make-Up school, and I learned the SAFE way to
lifecast. I'm a part of many special effects makeup forums on Facebook, and
I saw a link to this video today with the caption, "Okay folks, here is a
prime example of what NOT to do. I implore you, please do not put plaster
gauze/bandages directly on your skin." You guys have over 300,000 subs, not
to mention all the people who watch that aren't subs, and their safety is
clearly not a concern to you. I went on to read the comments on the post,
and I saw an interesting one from Marc Clancy AKA Powdah, his comment was
this, "Someone messaged me a few weeks back asking for some advice after
she had followed their face cast video. She couldn't find plaster bandages
so used medical gauze dipped in to plaster of paris. Further in to our chat
I discovered she had actually burnt the skin on her face after attempting
it twice." REALLY?!?! Special Effects Make-Up is NOT something to be taken
lightly. Most of the materials contain dangerous chemicals or go through
chemical reactions, yet your viewers are not being informed of this. They
are trusting you, but you're not giving them all the warnings, which could
be disastrous. If using plaster bandages directly on the skin is a
perfectly safe method of lifecasting, then why are there dozens of
documented cases of people getting severe burns from it, some resulting in
finger amputations after they tried a hand cast??? Do your research,
people. Your safety is not worth it. Things like this are one of the many
reasons I wanted to start my own YouTube channel; there are too many people
out there that don't know the safety precautions that come with these
materials.
+ItsGottaBeSarahC The ones we use are the same my kindergarden teachers put on my face in school when doing art. In the shop they sell this for the use to put it on the face to make masks for kids. This is not dangerous if you know what your doing - as always :).
Craft store plaster bandages, which is what they are using, are made with plaster of paris. While there are medical grade plaster bandages, those are not approved for direct use on the skin. There's always a barrier. Special effects make-up is my trade, and the bottom line is that this method is not a safe or professional one to use. Did you go to special effects make-up school? Do you know the industry standard of life casting? I'm going to assume no, so I'm going to disregard the "you should pay attention" thing because I payed attention in school when I learned how to properly life cast someone so they don't get burns, locked in it, or suffocate.
+ItsGottaBeSarahC At no point did they say, or imply, that they were using plaster of paris or other such plaster that can cause thermal burns. There is plaster guaze that is perfectly safe for use on the skin, such as what has been used by the military and hospitals in general. You obviously mean well and that's fine, but you should actually pay attention before posting a comment.
There was no wax over your eyebrows when you blocked them out. Would it
just be double the amount of spirit gum ? I'm doing this for halloween this
year. I need to know ASAP lol. Thanks (:
