+~0uts1drx16~ then you should use Audacity //sourceforge.net/projects/audacity/Audacity comes with a plugin called "Waveshaper". where you can shape the rocorded audio waves as you want it and then shape it so you only can hear the acapella.

Yeah this isn't a 'live' track or anything. These are just the vocal and drum tracks from the studio version, slapped together and called a capella. I mean, it's still great, it's just not a special version of the song.

This is a acapella. You know acapella sometimes include snaps? Yeah percussion is acceptable in acapella. It's simply keeping the beat. It's awesome though.

OK, so dont get me wrong, but i did every single step that you did, it seems magic to me because i still have music!?, 100 % music, i didnt understood at what point in the video u did something that would get rid of the music, all i have is 1 original track and 1 intrumental track, i inverted the instrumental track. so ok, its inverted now cool lol i dont get it, i play it, and i still got my original and my instrumental playing.. every tutorial does the same, im waiting for the point to extract

Just imagine a sine wave (a), it's instrumental version for us just now. So this sine wave is instrumental, then in studion somebody have add a small bleep into this instrumental version - now we have second sine wave with small bleeps (a+b), and it's our vocal version for now... So we have two very similar waves with really small diferences ("a" and "a+b"). If we change the phase on one of them (invert), we will get this: a + (-a-b) = -b, so we will get inverted bleeps = added vocal.

Everywhere I go for a Tutorial to make an Acapella you always need an Instrumental!Saying that you need an Instrumental and an Original version JUST to make an Acapella. Is like saying I need to go to the store, which is ACROSS the Street but instead I walk 4 blocks down to the terminal to take the Bus so that I can go to the store and buy something that could have taken me a minute If I just crossed the street.

@JAYCZero Nobody ever said you NEED an instrumental, but you do need an instrumental for the phase cancellation method, which usually gets the best results IMO. Feel free to use the method of your choice, but don't go on a tutorial that specifically says phase cancellation in the title and expect something different.

you've done something wrong. maybe is one of your tracks playng left and second right - this could occur after separating stereo into two monos. or your tracks aren't synced or they are in different bit depth, sample frequency or format. but there must be a mistake on your side. this method works.

For those who cannot find an instrumental, and desperately need an acapella; Try to find a karaoke version on Amazon, with both the karaoke and a vocal guide. Then do this tutorial. It works great for the songs that don't have an instrumental publicly released. Better than nothing!

@fifster56101 You want to zoom into a point of the song where the singer isn't singing; all there is is background music. You can align the waveforms more easily this way because there are no vocals that add in their own waveforms.

I think that inverting makes the instrumental track (which will be inverted) a substracter to the original. We simply take away everything in common in the two tracks and the result is what we have left. Am I right?
