Four: Cementing and Polishing - Stained Glass Leaded Window Making Techniques
The fourth and final video in a series of techniques tutorial videos from Sunrise Stained Glass covering cementing and polishing methods. To purchase great ...
Thank you for this video. I wonder what you used for polishing your panel
after cementing. You did say, but I didn't hear it well. I would also like
to know what material it is. I'm from HUngary, and I usually can't get
things you have in the UK or USA... I've already had quite a few problems
when trying to find what material I should buy here in my country to reach
the same output. So if you can help me with the ingredients of your polish
please let me know. Thank you!
This was an excellent series that you did. You were very detailed and did
an excellent job explaining each step. I did a few pieces of stained glass
years ago, so this was a great refresher for me. I learned how to do
stained glass from Khiem Pinkhasik who moved to the US from Russia in about
1980. He is a master glass artist and he has 5 pieces of his stained glass
arkwork at the Navy Pier Museum in Chicago, IL, USA.
This is a great video and really helpful. I wonder, however, if the final
bit where you are applying the copper loops could have a little closer
camera application as I would like to see how this is done. I have been
'doing' stained glass for a couple of years now and attach my copper in a
different way but would like to try your method. Thanks
Thanks, I'm glad the videos are helpful. In answer to your question most
machine made coloured glass is 3mm thick, handmade glass tends to vary. The
width of the lead channel is 5mm. Very occasionally when using a thick
handmade glass you will need to use a nova tool to widen the lead channel.
Alex your videos are really good. You are very clear and explain things.
I have really enjoyed watching them. Also l will be returning back to them
for follow up advice.
Thank you so much from a novice,
Pat
I very much enjoyed your videos. Yours were the best on the tutorials I
have viewed. It was difficult to find good videos showing how to make this
type of stained glass window. Thank you.
an old video but can you use Bostitch 8 oz Orange Chalk for chalk lines in
the construction trade for the whiting to have a different color for the
cement?
One: Pattern Making - Stained Glass Leaded Window Making Techniques.mpg
Video one in a series of techniques tutorial videos from Sunrise Stained Glass covering pattern making methods. To purchase great value glass supplies ...
Great video very informative. It's got me really fired up to take classes
Many thanks.
By the way Its pronounced "Aitch" not "Haitch." That's why when we mention
the National Health Service we refer to it as NHS That's N Aitch S.
Kind regards
+52memor Thank you for your comment. It may interest you to know that British English dictionaries give aytch as the standard pronunciation for the letter H. However, the pronunciation haytch is also attested as a legitimate variant. Broadcasters who naturally say haytch are not asked to change their pronunciation in the BBC.Haytch is a standard pronunciation in Irish English, I myself am half Irish so tend to use this pronunciation. It is increasingly being used by native English-speaking people all across the country, irrespective of geographical provenance or social standing. Polls have shown that the uptake of haytch by younger native speakers is on the rise so this may even become the prevalent pronunciation in years to come.

My daughters and I saw you in concert last night. We all fell in love with
this song and its message. We played in the car ( like 5 times) on the
drive home. What a gift you have! Thank you so much for using this gift to
bring glory to God. Your sound, your gift , your sense of humor were
refreshing and thus reach an audience that otherwise may not hear the Good
News. Blessings!
Hi Jon! Thanks so much to you and your wife for performing at the Behind
the Glitter event this week. I heard you sing this song and it really
impacted my heart. I was looking online for a live version of the song and
couldn't find it. You seemed to sing slower and it impacted me more than
the studio version. Where can I get a live version of the song?
I saw you perform at the Act Like Men conference this weekend in Ft Worth,
Tx. Your music is so amazing. It really reached out and touched the hearts
of many men this weekend. Our group that went with us were just blown away
by it! Praise God for you and your gifts that our Almighty Heavenly Father
has blessed you with! Truly blessed are we.
I was at your concert in Grand Rapids and your song this one and where ever

two songs mean a lot to me and I bought your cd
We saw you last night in Southaven & love your music! The lyrics are

enjoyed the show. God Bless you both.

with it!!! God has absolutely put the words were they need to be!!!! Thank
you for listening to him.
Saw you perform at act like men and then again at the rocking road show 15,
absolutely amazing brother you are truly blessed and thank you for sharing
gods gift with us.
I've heard you at Harvest a few times, and this song is one of the most
beautiful I have heard in a while. Please keep it up; I'd love to hear more
from you!
Thank you for you and Valerie performing this song at the Behind the
Glitter event on Sunday. My husband had heard it before and it really
touched both us.
Just saw you here in Southaven MS. Y'all are awesome and your music is
right on.
The Wonder Years - Stained Glass Ceilings

is it just a coincidence that this song is called stained glass ceilings,
similar to pierce the veil's stained glass eyes and colorful tears, which
is on the album collide with the sky that jason butler is also featured on?
this is just something i noticed. dont know if it was intentional, but if
so its a neat little easter egg type thing.
I can't help but feel I've lost the wonder years I fell in love with.. I
don't know why everything about these songs have to be so serious. I
thought soupy had Aaron west for the more serious stuff.. Can't I get some
"pretzels behind my house" type lyrics. I mean, soupy wrote songs about
death in the past and they were fun.. You made me wanna be a saint, he said
"not some cliche ballad" and that's all their new stuff mostly is now..
Sad, soft singing ballads. Let's have some fun again guys.
+Andrew Ramirez It's hard to write happy songs about positive topics in a world that gets more depressing by the day. But with that being said I Don't Like Who I Was Then, A Song For Ernest Hemingway and I Wanted so Badly to Be Brave are all pretty pop punky upbeat songs. It's been five years and three records since The Upsides though. They were bound to get more progressive as time went on. This is a beautiful change.
Most definitely. I understand that there's a reason why they wrote these songs. If not for the emotion, then what's the point? There are probably many more people than I could ever know who will be able to relate to the album, and I'm glad that is the case.
I feel like with this album in general it was an outlet for them not just Soupy to sing and play about what they've been feeling. An artists art always portrays the artist in the current state. Kind of like Picasso in his blue era. Thats what I do, if I feeling down I write sad shit and when I feeling happy I write about having fun and it's all energetic. You write what you feel. Its art man.
The Wonder Years got me into pop punk. That vibe just isn't here. This whole album just kinda makes me feel sad, and that's not what I really want right now lol. Forever jamming out to Melrose Diner because I still hate my ex girlfriend.
that's the best part though. we all have all these sides and styles to this band. At least they're able to hit home for different people by writing differently. not many bands can do that. just glad you aren't one of those bashers who just say dislike the band cus it isn't what they are used to. I was the same at first. but this album as well grew on me
+horayforjoe thank you! I honestly thought I was the only who felt this way.. It's like no disrespect or hate to the band.. They're good dudes and I feel there are good qualities in the new stuff it just doesn't resonate the way Suburbia does. I mean you can't deny there is distinct difference in the feel of the songs from The Upsides/Suburbia to the Greatest Generation and this new album. It just lacks the energy and spunk or something. Still giving this new stuff a chance and hope it'll get better with time or something.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I'm glad they can "grow up" but it's just not for me. I've tried listening to the whole album a couple times, but I just can't get into it. I'm not trying to stir up any drama or hate.
+cody russell yeah I agree. The album is growing on me. I think it's much better than greatest generation. I just don't think anything could top suburbia for me. No biggie glad all you guys like it.
+Andrew Ramirez So you happen to be one of the unfortunate people who don't like progression in their bands. They're experimenting with different sounds. You don't have to like it. They've earned a bunch of new fans while losing people like you in the process. That's how music works. Stop complaining and go listen to their older stuff if you don't like this album.
+Andrew Ramirez um I didn't know that depression and anxiety were so called "fun" because that's what the last three albums were dealing with and tbh that kind of stuff is pretty serious.but I guess I get what you're saying because their stuff before was I guess was to a faster almost heavier beat but honestly I love this album because it shows that they are really growing up as a band and I think these were a perfect mix of songs for this album. ;)
+imlan123 also serious but it had energy and was fast, fun and short. All these songs lack the energy that upsides and suburbia had that's all I'm saying.
+S Reyes Thank you. We now have a better sound recorder, and our new cameras, lights and set will be ready sometime in January. By set, I mean, I going to film in my study, but it will be nice and bright and white, and I really hope everyone loves the new 2016 Cake Style.
