+ricmarc Why? Like Leah said above, the lyrics are about the guy honoring the commitment that he made, even though he made a mistake and married too quickly. You notice he's not leaving the girl that turned out to be the wrong one, though he is having regrets.
It's not about wanting to "dump" a wife or husband. It's about honouring a
commitment even after you realize there could be something much more with
someone else.
it so sad that this is the one the one that i remember my now gone do to

"Spirit of Johnny Cash" Tribute Artist Harold Ford
"You have my brothers voice! John would be honored." - Tommy Cash. Book either Johnny & June (Harold & Miss Laura Lucy) Tribute Show or include Tommy ...
"The music of Johnny Cash - Nashville music press has hailed this show as a
“must see to believe.” Harold Ford is incredible as Johnny Cash. He sings
and looks exactly like the man in black - and it comes naturally. When
Laura Lucy takes the stage as June Carter Cash, the combination is pure
magic. The Red Hot Cash Band is an extraordinarily talented team of
musicians, who recreate the music that made Johnny Cash country music’s
most iconic performer." - Colonial Theater, Pittsfield, MA
Sweet! This video captures the awesome experience of seeing Harold Ford and
the Cash Band live. I've seen these guys on numerous occasions and they
always put on a rockin' show. The Spirit of Johnny Cash is alive and well
thanks to Harold, Laura Lucy and The Cash Band!
We just saw Harold Ford, Laura Lucy, and the Spirit of Johnny Cash Band at
Infinity Hall. Second time. And, we can't wait to see them again......
Close your eyes. and, it's your listening to a great tribute to The Man In
Black...... Thanks, Harold!
This is a great video. I've seen you guys live several times and each time
is better than the last! Many of the songs sound so similar it is eerie.
You can certainly feel the spirit of Johnny Cash and June Carter at the
shows. You guys Rock!
"It's a Resurrection!" The guy in the audience was right when he yelled
that out. I was at your Lake George show. I could not believe what I was
seeing and hearing! Spirit of Johnny Cash? Heck, ya.
On a 6+ hour bus trip, at night, I met a beautiful girl. I was a young
18. We fell for each others as only teenagers can. This was in 1980 & now
I wish I remembered her name. The bus pulled into my hometown @ daybreak
and as I disembarked, I turned around & told her I'd never forget her & our
time together. It was an emotional experience I'll never forget. Then, to
see this vid....WOW.
I fear that this level of innocence and purity will never again grace our
society. not just people, but music too. most of the new stuff just blows.
thankfully we have the good stuff to hang on to. R.I.P. Dan Seals and good
music.
