Preview to LOVE, LABOR, LOSS: A Short Documentary Film on Obstetric Fistula
This is a preview to LOVE, LABOR, LOSS - a 15-minute advocacy video profiling women in Niger who are suffering from a childbearing injury called obstetric ...
I saw this on Oprah. There is a very wonderful white woman that helps these
girls get their fistulas fixed...its supposedly a very easy fix! These poor
young girls are forced to marry at 12 & are not developed enough to give
birth. There needs to be a law that says a girl can not marry until she is
17 or 18! This is so tragic and preventable! There are too many men that
want 12 yr old virgin brides. Then when this happens to her, he dumps her
and she then is ostracized by ...nice, Huh?
Preventions 1.Good Transport- 2.effective antenatal care(pregnancy follow
up) 3.good hospitals 4.trained staff 5.catheterization in difficult
labours5.Partogram timely C-sections. smaller mothers tend to have small
babies, even older mothers with small pelvis can have the same problems.
really poverty is the main cause as in gulf yuonger mathers rarely have
such problems
@abccoy all thats good in theory but who's going to stop them? You? Are you
going to help them? They have no-one, not even enough money to eat. A woman
has no rights in countrys like this.
Most of this could be avoided if people in under developed countries didn't
marry children. You can't knock up 12 year-olds and not expect there to be
issues.
Hello! You heard the talk about - H Be Gone (do a google search)? Quite a
few people are hearing decent things about it and my sister at very last
kissed good bye to piles with it.
