+RangerJesNo probs.I used to be very anti-atheist so I know where you are coming from.The jews wrote in the bible, "God said, let's make man in our image" (that is probably canaanite as well). What they did in fact was make god in their (man's) image. The Greeks had already taken it to another level and anthropomorphised their gods. In a sense they were more honest about it. I don't remember what the relationship was between the Greeks and their gods but Cathrine Hayes in her Yale lectures on youtube makes some interesting points about this when she talks about polytheism.Yes, Christianity lost its way at about the time of Constatine the Great and became, as you said, a control method of the masses.They hated the science the Greeks were engaged in because they were pagans and by connection their science was pagan too. This was a disaster for the progress of science, and as a result humanity was set back centuries.Still, I'm not quite sure what you hope to gain from following these ancient religions.

+RangerJesFirstly I'm an agnostic. My issue is with religion more than dogmatically against the idea of a diety existing. If we, worms and whales can exist then adding a diety to that list isn't so far fetched. I don't like Dawkins approach, I think he is too militant but I agree with him in principle on the negative role religion plays in society.If a diety does exist he certainly isn't the one in the abrahamic religious books. Those are stories from the days of the canaanites which were copied almost word for word by the jews to create the  first section of the bible.
