Turkish cuisine is not!! these are Ottoman cuisine.
Turks come from central asia (kazakh's brother) but ottoman is
complex(araps, armenians, greeks, farsi..)
Real turk food (yörük-türkmen)= pastırma, börek, mantı, höşmerim, katmer,
paçık, keşkek, yepindi, sütlaç, süt dolazı...
+Nabil Khoury There is not a lot of Persian Influence on food, only Persian Influence you will find on food will be Igdir region's some local dishes.Spices from Persia and India (like Turmeric and Saffron) were used in Palace dishes, however these were not used in the same way as Persians do and even then those spices did not garner much popularity within the populace.
+Nabil Khoury Not ashamed. We have nothing against Persians, but we will never forget what the Arabs did to us a century ago. "Arab" is considered a curse word in Turkish.

I visited Turkey alone in 2010 and at first I found it very weird and I
didn't like the food but quickly I did and I also loved the pop music
there! I found the bread, yogurt and condiments excellent, and I loved the
red tea. I am American and live in France and it just took a little while
to adjust to, is all. It is a huge country and very diverse and I hope to
visit again. I have a friend from the USA who lives and works there. Thank
you for this!
I am sure you are correct! I was there in Ege alone for only a week on a
package tour. I have another friend who is in Turkey now and he is staying
in hostels in different places. I live in France and the food is quite
limited here -- the French are not very adventurous. So it took me a couple
of days to avoid the horrible hotel food and to try some new and different
things. Turkey is such a huge country! I hope to see more of it!
