By this logic, cities at the same lattitude as Chicago should have similar crime rates. Here's just some of the bigger ones; Des Moines, Iowa, Lincoln, Nebraska, Cheyenne, Wyoming, Boise, Idaho. If temperatures are playing any role at all in the crime rates in Chicago, then by default, the crime rates in the following cities should also all be on the rise... which they aren't.

+skyboundpilot I think he just phrased it poorly at first. It was obvious to me that he meant the perception of an increase in crime is the result of technology. Since more people have the ability to instantly report it and have become less afraid of doing it, people have become more aware of it. Crime hasn't actually increased, just our perception and awareness of it.
