The print quality is just exquisite! Prefer to offset any day! As I am an
artist that uses photocopiers as an art medium, (Like iGen) Toner-based,
but concerns have arisen, due to the toners not being colour-fast, as I am
an ethical person, for me to sell my work, a preservative spray, needs to
be applied, as I don't want to "rip off" anyone (knowingly) as fading is a
real problem, this issue needs addressing, dedicated R+D staff are needed,
to solve this fundamental issue.
ThankYou for this clarification, I am not (experientially) aware of the
characteristics of this class of product, but many colour copiers (from
what I know) have this problem, it is good to know that a digital press in
the class of iGen has had this addressed.
A 100 bucks! That's just INSANE!!! I paid 22 dollars from Amazon UK + postage. I would recommend you compare the publisher's price with the cheapest Amazon UK marketplace seller's price. Unfortunately I never got any of the Gore GAzettes. I hope there are fans that are pdf'ing them (or maybe they already have). Btw, one of my readers uploaded the first ish of my zine.//issuu.com/mettetrierkonzack/docs/bib_1
I am actually going to have to order it from the UK...the us sellers that have it are charging over $100 for it...I have so many memories of buying most of those rags when they came out esp...gore gazette and deep red.
Hey Jack, that looks like a very interesting book, and I love the cover. I
admit to knowing practically nothing about the world of fanzines. Somehow
they managed to escape my radar and my collector's instinct. I know what
you mean about having so many things around to read, or to watch or to
listen to. That's the way it is for me. Sometimes it feels overwhelming,
and for some strange reason, reading has started to feel stressful. So I've
been forcing myself to relax and read something every day and try to ease
myself back into the habit. Great video, Jack. Take care!!
+grey1951 Mike! That's actually odd! (that they managed to escape your radar). Haha. Fanzines go way back, there were sci-fi fanzines in the early 60s, and there were fanzines devoted to practically everything. There were zines about 50s sci-fi and horror as well. I checked eBay and quite a few of them turn up there, but unfortunately they tend to be quite pricey. As a matter of fact, I've begun to try and force myself to read every day as well! Thanks, Mike. You too. xD
That book looks cool! I would read that big old bastard for sure. - yes
Jack you do have so many things laying around you have not gotten to yet. -
why do I own NONE of your fanzines? - I use to own and read a lot of heavy
metal/death metal fanzines that I would order out of the back of metal
magazines. - mainly I would order them from Metal Maniacs magazine as they
had a fanzine review section in the back of the magazine. - sweet video
Jack. Cheers.
+PSYCHOTRONICbrdcst Oops, I forgot about this, haha, you can actually read the first issue of my zine (from 1994) online. One of my readers uploaded it. I'm not sure if it's downloadable but it's there, online, in all its entirety. 32 pages! //issuu.com/mettetrierkonzack/docs/bib_1
+TJ Pyramid V-e-r-y strange!!! For two days straight my "video manager" has kept telling me there were no comments and today it suddenly tells me you left this comment bloody two days ago!!! Argh!! Why do you own none of my zines? One of the big mysteries of this world, indeed! I also used to read metal and punk zines back in the day. I used to go thru Metal Hammer's section to learn about new titles. Thanks for your kind words, Joe. xD
