this reminds me of my godfather who died 12 years ago yesterday. i never
got to say goodbye to him, and I can only hope he knew how much I loved him
(and continue to love him) and how much i appreciated his presence in my
life. Theres so much I would do differently if I could... he meant so much
to me and I never really got to show him. I was young when he died and felt
like everyone lived forever so I didnt need to let people know how I
felt...
so often I wish I could talk to him and wish he was here. I know he's in
heaven now, but I just wish I could sit with him one more time. I'll always
miss him and this song is just perfect for how I feel.
RIP Kevin, I'll always love you.
Lovely voice, beautiful song but... Cassadee Pope made it her own! $1.29
for the song was just my down payment for the ticket I will buy to her
concert! It was the first time I have watched the voice this season and
don't know what other songs Cassadee has sung but if she was to keep
singing the way she delivered "Over you" she could break hearts of country
fans all over the country and the world. It happened for Carrie Underwood,
I believe it's happened again. A star is born! I'll be watching!
Cassadee can't sing it like Miranda can. Beside, who can understand Blake
Shelton more than Miranda? This song is hauntingly beautiful and the
background music for some reason gave me a chill! The sliding guitar sound
with the cooperation of acoustic guitar and piano emphasize a lonely winter
perfectly. Miranda also sings with such emotion even though it's obvious
that Cassadee is a better singer technically.
My best friend of 12 years committed suicide and this was the first song I
heard afterwards......I had to pull over because I was crying so damn
hard....depression killed her.....she won't get to see her youngest
graduate H.S, either child married, grandbabies, her family....but I'd like
to think she's in peace now.
ohmygod okay cassadee pope fans you can shut up now :P I mean I thought she
did okay but you guys are fooling yourselves if you think she did a better
job than a country star singing a song her husband wrote :P I'm pretty sure
this is just cassadee fanaticism and not an objective comparison of two
good singers
When I first heard this song I loved it but never thought that the words
written by Miranda and Blake would be so meaningful to me until I recently
lost my brother to pancreatic cancer. I feel like they wrote this song for
us. It makes me sob but gives me comfort at the same time. Thank you for
writing this.
Well, I just clicked on Pope's over on the right and she sings it
incredibly well, both technically and emotionally. The reason I prefer it
over Lambert's is mostly because it is more stripped down and lets the
vocal shine. So much of modern music is buried in over-production these
days...
love the way you sing this song Miranda!! you're voice is so unique!!!
while listening to the radio, your voice is so identifiable, love all your
songs!!! Thank you Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert.... we love you guys
and even more so, as a couple.... xo's
Miranda has such a great voice! She is country through and through! Her
voice plays to the soul and captures now and then. That is hard to do on
many levels. She is an angel who shoots music like a bullet from a gun.
This song is amazing every time I hear it all I can think of is my Pepe who
I lost in August of last year to cancer and i am still not over losing him
and i think of him everyday so thank you for this
Cassadee Pope did a great job with this song. She has a beautiful voice,
but Miranda's voice tells a story. And to me, I prefer to Miranda's version
because I can relate to the story.
The part when she said "you went away how dare you." It just breaks my
heart it minds me of all of my family and friend that past away i love ya
family and friends :( !!!!!!!!
No one has ever left my life prematurely. But I have seen with it could do
to people. This song is very difficult for me to listen to. I cry or come
close to tears each time.
It's been 11 years 4months since my sister passed away. This song brigs me
to tears when I hear it because it feels like she passed away yesterday
love you always Nicole!
I LOVE this song. I lost my younger brother in a car accident 18 mos ago
and this song hits home for me. I LOVE it. I cry every time I hear it.
Thank you for this song.
Cassadee Pope's performance of this song on The Voice totally blew me away
!!! I know I'm not alone because I believe they said it went to #1 in
iTunes the next day !!!
On November 13,2006 I lost my son at the age of 21 in a horrible car
accident. When I heard this song I really took it to heart!! I cry every
time I hear it!!
Miranda, just priceless! !! Beautiful song by an amazing singer! Go
Girl!!!! (Sorry Handsome, she nailed this, wich I know you have in your
heart always! )
Cassadee will be the first reality show contestant to blow up the scene
since Carrie Underwood. She's too good to be in the same room with those
other two.
