R34 GT-R vs R35 GT-R at IDRC
Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R vs Nissan R35 GT-R at IDRC. 11.5 R34 , 11.8 R35.
the r34? good luck. ive read a bunch of articles that pretty much prohibit
them in the U.s. kaizo is pretty much the only way for em now. OR you could
do as i do. im waitng untill 2015 wen 1990 skyline (r32) is 25 years old.
then i could just buy it ship it and not have to deal with HALF the
trouble. r34 might take a lil longer... Its hard to import becuase alot of
them dont pass safety tests. lack of airbags and stuff. Even if you get all
the stuff done theres still going to be annoying cops
of course the 34 is going to beat the 35. chances are highly likely that
the r34 has about 40 grand under that hood. on the other hand, the 35 is
more than likely bone stock, being that aftermarket parts are still being
developed for the car. i would say it's pretty good for a stock 35 to keep
pace with a modified 34. the 35 is better, in my opinion. it's drivetrain
and aerodynamics are leagues ahead of the r34. no doubt about it. and once
the spec-v comes along, its really gonna kick ass!
@gigablade77 And yes a buggatti does use auto, dual clutch gear boxes are
considered as automatics. When a gear is changed automatically, dual clutch
or not its still considered an automatic, the user doesnt have control of
the transmission in anyway unless paddleshift is engaged, but its still
considered to be an automatic. Its just not the same as the traditional
autos. And is no where near similar to a stick shift.
@gigablade77 I know how a dual clutch gear box works and i know the
difference, if you read my comment properly i just listed one type of an
automatic transmission, I didnt say they were all the same. You will also
notice i was making the point why buggatti chose dual clutch over manual, i
never said that auto and dual clutch is the same.
Well, the R35 is of course technically better than the R34, actually I
think there is no car that can beat the R35 GT-R if the cars have as much
power. Stock R35 beats the same class Ferrari's and Lambo's which are twice
the price of R35, and tuned 800hp R35 beats a Veyron etc. Anyway, I would
pick a R34 over R35 anytime. I just love R34.
manual owners, face the facts the new autos are simply better due to the
new technology, dual clutch gear boxes etc, why do you think buggati never
featured a stick shift in their veryron?? cause its simply slower and no
human driver can shift as fast and precise as a new auto transmission, face
it manuals are now 2nd best.
@SkylineHurr Its NOT BANNED. People that don't understand the US laws and
regulations as they relate to the DOT and EPA like to use banned, as they
don't know any better. It is difficult, nearly impossible to import a
non-originally certified car to the US. Look up my user name and "vehicle
import" for some reading.
the only reason y R35 eventually caught up is because its got a twin clutch
gear box, that shifts in less than 1/10 of a second, if r34 had that, it
would've smoked r35, really impressed by the american racing stupidity, r35
wasnt build for staright line speed, it was mostly built to mash ur mind in
the corners
@spiritsword83 While I agree stock Vs stock the R35 smokes just about any
car out there on anything more then a straight line, I still love the R34,
the look and whole feel of the car, I hope to own an R34 someday, but I
think the R35 is much more in my reach. ^_^
@donkey1450 The Bugatti Veyron does not use an automatic transmission,
neither does the R35. DSG/Twin Clutch transmissions are not the same as
classic automatics. DSG and classic standard transmissions both have their
up and downsides. Get your car facts straight.
@simerdla R34's are not over 15 years old, so there shouldn't be any in
Canada. There are some, but even then you can not legally import them into
the US unless you follow DOT and EPA guidelines. Look up my user name and
"vehicle import" for more information.
Nissan does not call an R35 a Skyline, even though in Japan the Infiniti G35
is called a Skyline there. The Skyline GT-R was always more desired than
the other Skylines, however in the US, people don't know the difference
between "Skyline" and "Skyline GT-R."
@otroyx dont be like that bro.r34 has given a good name for skylinefor many
years already. i know the r35 is a good car but the price is tota;;y
different bro.and the r35 is a matured looking car and the r34 is a fun
young looking car.its only my opinion.
@tyndago So true. Canadians get to have fun in cars that U.S. guys have to
gray market and they still complain. Just shows you can't satisfy everyone.
The R34 came out in 1999 so he only has 4 more years before he can get his
hands on one. Lucky bum.
The problem with the RB is that its an old engine. No emissions related
things on it, heavy and strong iron block. Packaging issues as its long.
There are guys cranking 700 whp out of the VR38. We can enjoy the past, but
we shouldn't be stuck in it.
Motorex is closed, and has been closed for about 3 years now. No one is
importing cars though the RI route any more. There are cars, not that many.
I know more about this than anyone else in the US. When I say its hard,
trust me it is.
The laws in your country is why. The car needs to be over 15 years old. The
R34 started in 1999, so you still have a few more years to go. Here in the
US for exempt its 25 years old for DOT. So don't complain too much.
these people thinking the r34/rb26 is better than the r35/vr38 are just
fucking ignorant and are holding on to a false since of nostalgia... GET
RIGHT, VR OWNS RB!!! but the RB is still legendary no matter what...
An R34 will not pass California emissions. There might be some cars here in
California, but they would not be registered in California. If you drive
any Skyline, you will be harassed by cops. Comes with the cars.
@teemuvayrynen i lllooovvvee the way r34 is designed,,.. no offense to the
r35 fans but r34s look more masculine the the r35s... they look like a
lady's car... but thumbs up to the power of r35
@gigablade77 And so what if the dsg and classic trannys have their ups and
downs, obviously nissan and buggatti picked these trannys for a reason,
cause they have more ups than downs.
I love the RB, and I have been working on it 10 years, but the VR38 is more
than a liter larger, and the heads are awesome. R35's are routinely in the
low 10's now.
There are no cars in California. Do a Google search for Kaizo. Nissan
Skyline GT-R's are very difficult to get in the US. There are cars, but its
just difficult.
I like all the Skylines really. But I'd prefer an RB26 based Skyline over
the R35. I love the r35 too, but I'd much prefer a proper manual and a
proper engine.
You don't compare a real r34 to a real R35. I bet the r34 will smoke it any
time of the day, but in video games the r35 will be any player's favorite.
