my dad doing a flyby in his new 2005 E55 he was going nearly 60 mph as he passed great sounding car.

we were, until it wouldn't start 2 weeks ago :( $6000 later and it's back in action! except for the power rear shade, which stopped working a few days ago. after all it ain't an LS 400. the sense of superiority you have while driving it though is definitely one of it's best accolades

я служил на аэродроме ,задавал курс посадки им за станцией ... очень громкие агрегаты ,когда находишься в 10-20 метрах под ними и они форсируют ,взлетая ,направляя сопла в тебя ,кишки просто выворачивает ,бас такой что тошнит ,ощущение как будто внутренности перемешивают ,даже испугался от этого :) испугался не самого шума и или самолета ,а именно того что подумал что все у меня отвалится сейчас ... зверюги просто ... потом привык и спал даже ,НОРМАЛЬНО ,хрен разбудишь спал ,проспал один раз все палеты ,и меня потеряли ,но когда пришли за мной ,вовремя проснулся ,мол зачитался и идти лень обратно было а телефон типа сломался :)))

This thing is a beast. The mighty SR-71 stopped overflying the USSR because 2 MiG-31s, automatically networking with the ground based AA in the area, were able to get an all angle lock on a Blackbird. At that point, the SR-71 was forced to turn back and the Blackbird never again overflew Soviet airspace. Within two years, the Blackbird was mothballed, because it was no longer a relevant aircraft.

Sold my Monaro VXR a few months ago and boy do I miss it. It was unreliable as hell... I owned it for 3yrs from new and had courtesy cars for approx 18 months of that time! But I wouldn't have changed it for the world. Had the same exhaust conversion as the car in this video plus mental audio and various other performance tweeks. Gotta agree though with certain comments - the set-off and shifting here was pretty poor!!

@Danielhsv0 I like the LS9 but not sure if the chassis can handle it. There needs to be ESP on board to cope with the torque and power. THe normal one has a 5 spd manual or 4 sp auto, I mean 4 sp auto??? Come on. Holden didnt have the sport shift tiptronic until the VE came along in 2006. To me ESP and a nice ZF auto will do the trick.

Its VMAX not a race ! the only object is reach the fastest top spead down the back straight through the speed trap. The Monaro and M3 are totally matched on top end if you care to look. The results from this event are here ... Google VMAX 19th August 2007 for the results. ! ! !

CSL won anyway if you guys care to check ! Google this... VMAX 19th August 2007 for the results. Its the V Max event, the task is to get the top speed down the back straight its not an off the line drag. So the CSL IS faster in a staight line.

Maybe not, but you said "add a turbo or a supercharger to it and i guarantee you'll be seeing dust if you're in the monaro lol" which is totally irrelevant to handling and therefore I assumed you were talking about straight line speed.

V8 vs inline 6 no wonder, the holden commodore HSV has about the same preformance as the BMW M5, for those that don't know the monaro is just a 2 door commodore and the HSV (Holden special vehicle) is the top line of them

Monaro clearly wasnt trying then, ive raced a few M3's road and track regardless of E46 or E90 and beat them everytime, nd before you get abusive I own an E90 330D coupe so have nothing against BMW.

Interesting. I suspect if you put both these cars around The Ring, the M3 would blitz the Monaro lap time. Straight line speed is one thing, carrying it through corners is quite another!

It's a fair race really, they are around the same price after all.... And yeah get the BMW gts for what £100,000 nah get a vxr8 Bathurst s half the price and 100bhp more... Hmmm

pfft monaro will get killed if it took on an e90, period. it was obvious that the monaro would win against an e46. BMW is all class mate, M3 over monaro anyday!

Cant deny the fact that the BMW has superior engineering, add a turbo or supercharger to it and i guarantee you'll be seeing dust if you're in the monaro lol

I own a E46 M3 convertible, lets put the performance figures aside, I must admit that monaro is a better looking car. Wouldn't mind owning one.

@R7shandil E90 is newer then the monaro. A 4 door VXR8 is as fast to 60 as an E90 m3. The brakes on the e90 are, like all M cars, poor.

that m3 has a Turbo S6 right? But I never thought the Monaro will trash it this bad. I'll have the Monaro over this M3 any day man.
