I'm not trying to be a jerk here, as this is a very funny moment, but I've
gone back and listened to what Riccinni is saying, and it doesn't even
sound CLOSE to "My black ass parents." With her accent, the only other
thing it would be possible to hear is "blay my parents" which doesn't make
sense, so one should naturally connect the dots and assume she said
"blame." How on earth did he hear that?
This is a good imagery of race relations in America in a nutshell:
Black person cant understand the Asian accent (no problem)
Black person thinks something racial is said but just wants to confirm (no
problem)
Black person and Asian gets along and share a genuine laugh together (no
problem)
All while the White person stands by looking unamused by them both and
stuck up (problem) instead of just enjoying the good time with
them.......-_- what is it with White people?
stop looking down on ppl and live a little....and if you dont like my
comment.....BLAME MY BLACK ASS PARENTS XD
+Adorian Lee Wow, way to read way too much into things. First of all, she laughed several times throughout this video. Second of all, you do not know her mental frame of mind. It's possible she was very nervous to be there, as it's probably her first time on TV and also she's hoping to get the question right, that she just didn't feel like laughing as much as the other two. As is common with many people who see racism everywhere, you simply jumped to a ton of conclusions.
+Adorian Lee It's funny, because you have as much chance of getting critized by black people for actually laughing at the situation. Point in case, you can't win with everyone. Also, don't act like the reaction of a single white person is representative for an entire race. That's just so stupid.
brother, we are so close to agreeing on this issue. the difference is a matter of interpretations. what you are describing is leaning to a free market ideology. in which the words or the actions of a single individual faces the judgement of the greater society. as it should be. the problem comes into play when the government steps in to legislate such. NO government can legislate morality. as every persons morals differ.still, free speech is supposed to protect all speech, including hate speech. but that doesn't work in todays society. look at that bakery who was forced by government to bake a wedding cake for that gay couple. is that justified? is that freedom? now, if the gay community or those who support gay rights wanted to boycott that establishment, then fine. but as we saw, they were forced to comply.who decides what is offensive? after all, if i take offense to one black man calling another black man the "N" word, what actions can i take? what about if i take offense to gays flaunting and parading around in ways that "questionable"? what about if i've learned that the holocaust isn't scientifically possible to have happened and speak out on it? if the majority decides i am wrong, then i get labelled. this is the major flaw with a democracy. the majority rules mentality. politically correctness only applies to those the system has already deemed racist or discriminating. and that presumption in and of itself, i find to be offensive. so then now what?growing up, we learned a valuable lesson in a little childhood rhyme, "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me". if we become a society of people who demands the silence of opposing views merely because one sect takes offense to it, then we loose the very essence of free thought and freedom itself...
+killbilly2012 What you say sounds good but this is the real world and in this world people are good and people are assholes, people practice social balance and some go to offensive extremes, therefore society needs the idea of politically correctness to keep a balance beween what is wrong and what is right, what is acceptable and what isn't. Anything can't be accepted in society in the name of freedom. If it was, there would be chaos. The freedom of speech protects the people from legal government action for an individuals personal opinion, not the public opinion of what is socially acceptable and what is not. So we do have freedom of speech but not "immunity" to what we as a people (public) decide for ourselves what is proper and what is not.A lot of comedians make racial jokes and touch on racial stereotypes of blacks all the time and it is always taken well, as long as the comedian is brilliant enough to know how to deliver the idea correctly, such as Lisa Lampanelli, Seinfeld-The Wizard episode and a few more.Even other races and even blacks do racial jokes about racism and it is always taken well because the comedian is brilliant enough to do it correctly. Goerge Lopez, Dave Chappelle-Clayton Bigsby, Numerous of The Boondocks episodes, just to name a few.Bottom line is, this isn't a prefect world and people are going to be stupid and assholes so society needs something to keep a balance and the extremist 'at bay' as much as possible. You can't just say anything you want to someone, well, you can legally(not including obvious illegal harmful behavior), but as a free country, we 'as a society' don't have to accept or agree with it.We also have the freedom to censor what we believe is not socially accepted in our society to prevent offensive and hurtful/harmful things becoming widespread by the assholes. Freedom of speach allows you to be an asshole if you want, but political correctitude creates a scale for balance and gives the offended freedom to fight back or have it not accepted. Freedom of speech was also not created for people to become social assholes......ijs :)
we will have to disagree on the "freedom of speech" portion sir. the 1st Amendment does not protect popular speech, nor "politically correct" speech. in fact, it is the 1st Amendment for a reason, to protect unpopular speech.i will also insist that there are totally different standards. a black comedian can make as many racial slurs they choose to and nobody ever calls them out for it. yet if a white comedian makes any type of racially motivated joke, especially towards the black community, he is scrutinized for it. hell, look at the flack that Joan Rivers received after making cracks, comparisons and jokes about the Obama's.i personally refer to the fundamental definition of what discrimination is. and in my opinion, that is basically preference of one thing over another. and in that, we all have preferences. i am a Constitutional minded man. i am a disabled veteran of war. i see a man as a man, the individual as an individual. at least until their actions, inactions, words or even the manner of speech proves that person to be otherwise. it's been my experience that not everyone wants equality. but i can say for sure that there will never be equality until every man, woman and child is held to the same standards, until everything in media, society and individual responsibility is itself equal. jmo...
+killbilly2012Things must be censored because of the people who take things to dangerous and offensive extremes in the name of freedom. However, there is still freedom of speech but social nonacceptance has been implemented into society to keep a balance.Freedom of speech was not made so people can be rude, offensive or hateful towards each other, but people do this all the time, that is why certain racial things said by whites( or any race) is considered wrong. There is no problem with being proud to be white(or any race) just as long as you do not offend or look down on any other race while doing so. Going to extremes in comments on race is wrong, its just as wrong and extreme as Eric Holders' comment.Society does not single out whites for racism, the sad truth is, whites do this to themselves. The problem is that most whites ARE bigots and racist. Many whites make there own race look bad by looking down on other races. This is why most of the rest of the world will see most whites as racist.Another big thing is that lots of whites don't even know that they are bigots and racist deep down inside, this is also why other races are very wary of whites when it comes to racism. but it doesn't mean whites can't be proud or laugh at a hilarious racial situation. the problem is that whites who are racist dont know how to do this or find that balance.Whites who "walk on eggshells" trying to make sure they dont say or do anything racist are most likely racist and dont know it. Most people who aren't racist dont need to "walk on eggshells" or find the balance, they naturally already know it with out even trying, that is why the asian lady in the video fell out laughing with out thinking first, she naturally felt comfortable laughing while subconsciously knowing it wouldn't be seen as racist.Whites can be proud and say whatever they want but it's very rare they wont say something racist in their lifetime to show their true colors, especially if they are very angry with a person of another race....
it's programming. for so long, society has placed strict restrictions and censored so much of what is said and by who, that there is no free speech these days. and since being proud to be "white" is by default, racist, then i can understand her hesitation. after all, Eric Holder himself even insisted that ONLY whites can be racist.
+killbilly2012It is not socially unacceptable for a white person to laugh at a racially oriented subject in this society. If the asian lady would have been white, it would have been just as funny and no one would have had a problem with her falling out laughing at the situation or misunderstanding.I do understand what you mean but if this is the case, then whites shouldn't be so paranoid because backs and other races aren't that sensitive when it comes to misunderstandings or situations like this one. The proof is in how Steve and the rest of the audience took it so well.
just throwing this out there, but did you ever consider the fact that as a "white person", it is socially unacceptable to laugh at a racially oriented subject? in this society, whites are not permitted to make comments about any other race. you suggest she was uptight, maybe she was just concerned about how she would be portrayed if she did laugh as the others did?
+Adorian Lee Yeah, I knew you were too immature to handle such an offer, but I figured I would offer it anyway. There was always the chance you weren't a total moron, but that was probably hoping for too much.
+Adorian Lee Since you keep replying, you must have no life either. The pot and the kettle are the same color here. If you really wanted this to end, you would have stopped replying the first few times you implied you were done.We both know you just want the last word so you can pretend that you won. You might get it, but not because you told me to stop responding. You'll have to earn itI'll make you a deal though!Either don't reply to this specific conversation any more (just this one, start a new post, reply to others, I don't care so long as YouTube doesn't send me a notification), or some reply agreeing to this proposal with no further attack, insult, or provocation, and I will consider this a Draw. You won't have won, but you won't have lost, either. This would be the Diplomatic approach. The "Full Retard' alternative is we keep going back and forth until YouTube's notification system fails, they close the comments for this video, or one of us actually does quit. I'm sure you know how little effort this takes, and how irrational people can be with regards to Arguments on the Internet.Personally, I'm good either way.
+MacClay8move on, wow u must have no life, my full retard earphones been turned off move on unless u have no life then go ahead and keep responding.......
+Adorian Lee Sure you didn't, totally believe you. Even when your original posting before my first reply is edited. Totally believable, man. Not that it matters, as you never bothered having a credible point this entire time. Or if by some accident you did, you edited it out. You're apparent lack of self control rules your given reason out, and it's embarrassing you even tried. You really shouldn't need your hand held through this if your caretaker is allowing you on the internet but I'll give it a go: "I'm right and you're wrong" isn't a direct quote from you (it couldn't be, the spelling and grammar is passable). It's the general style of your replies. You do nothing to actually address my points, resorting to petty insults or deliberate misinterpretations (This is the "You're wrong" part, in case you got distracted by something shiny), That you pretend to be an unimpeachable authority on the racism and bigotry of whites merely because you have white relatives and met 'many' white people that you claim were racist/bigots, and nothing more is the "I'm right" part. An intelligent person would have used that anecdotal evidence as a supplement to independently verifiable data while minding the possibilities of bias-confirmation. A rational person would have taken a softer position that was possible to defend. A child or a person with mental disabilities would have called it enough and judged a quarter billion people off his or her experience with some small number of people that fit his or her agenda.Apologies to children and mentally handicapped people everywhere that would find it offensive to be compared to this guyI know you aren't going to stop writing like that. It would take an education, or at least some mild effort on your part. It's fairly obvious you don't have the benefit of the former, or the resources for the latter. Your original posting and subsequent replies to other people are of the same quality. It would almost be believable that you do so on purpose to make your verbal diarrhea difficult to read in an effort to disguise the lack of merit in your arguments, but that would have required creativity on your part. Doing any better is frankly just beyond your meager abilities.Unless you are just trolling, in which case it's impressive work. I almost want to say it is, but Poe's Law being what it is, I can't be sure.
+MacClay8 nope never edit for my argument sake never once changed my statements and the way i used them you just cant read lmao, only edit to take out certain profanities as i feel sorry for a retard and cursing at them to many times is just wrong so sorry for that, and please show me where i said "You're wrong and I'm right" ????........... cant find it??? oh are you going to say i edit it again lol oh u are just putting words in my mouth and making up shit i never said again to find something to stand you retard argument on, im really starting to think u must be just joking or maybe you really are a retard and if you are Im very sorry for offending uand no im not going to stop writing like this bc this convo isnt worth it, maybe if u had a intelligent argument or debate strategy or at least a fairly decent point id show this convo that respect even if i disagreed but ..........noIm turning off my Full Retard Earphones now bye XD
+Adorian Lee You can't have a conversation with anyone that doesn't bow down to your views. It's cute that you edited all your posts, by the way. You do know that YouTube marks them for that? You obviously aren't editing them for spelling or grammar. That destroys your credibility for "I never said" and "go back and read" style arguments.Your arguments against racists were only against a particular brand of racist, and you painted an entire race as racist. That by itself does make you a bigot and hypocrite by definition, and a defacto racist. You are either a very stupid person or are trying to use a very narrow threshold to qualify for what it takes for someone to be a racist. If that was the case,it would be most accurate to say that every race is equally racist. That in itself would be pretty stupid, so there you are.I understand what you write as well as anyone can with the quality of said writing, but frankly, it's just shit. Your arguments are terrible, your logic is atrocious, and you appear to have no ability for introspection. You keep repeating "You're a retard", "I'm telling the truth", and "You're wrong and I'm right" as if you saying it makes it so.Or, in language you might understand: "Lol lol retard, rubadubdub roofle owned scrub."
+MacClay8 sorry i dissapointed you but i cant have an intelligent convo with a full retard person, its like trying to explain color to the blind, just a big waist of time and you wont get it, so im not going to try, your brains arent worth it neither worth me worrying about my grammar so bye now and have fun in your narrow worldi will leave you with something you may be able to learnRacist-a person who believes that a particular race is superior to another.(my argument has been consistently against ppl like this)you obviously cant understand this or cant read, or you do what most racist people do and try to reverse it on others, but u failed, the proof is in the very definition of "Racist" I told the truth about whites and u are not capable of handling it so bye.
+Adorian Lee Interesting that you have to insult me, rather than discuss this as a gentleman would. From the way you type, I should not have expected better. Your 'points' were the pathetic flailing of someone incapable of intelligently discussing their point of view. Also, criticizing my reading ability while typing the way you do? C'mon, buddy.Flipping your arguments was merely a way to demonstrate how foolish they were to begin with. It may have been amateur, but you don't rate effort beyond that. That is was so easy to flip them on you and have them still fit is a good indication of how little substance they had to begin with. That you rely on crap like that is just... I don't know, actually. Both sad and disappointing, but not as surprising as it should be.You are obviously more interested in 'winning' this disagreement or being 'technically' right than putting forth an actually well thought out argument. Expecting you to to even have the capability to objectively evaluate your professed beliefs was foolish on my part.I quite believe your story of your racist and bigoted family, as it has efficiently produced in you a racist bigot. That you either can't see this, or do see it and believe it is justified is both tragic and comedic.I don't need you to 'explain' it to me in any event, as you have yet to explain much of anything. If I actually did go Full Retard, it was just to get down to the level you started at. I bet your tumblr is just magical.Tropic Thunder was an alright movie, but you shouldn't depend so heavily on the Full Retard schtick. You'll have people thinking you are even narrower than you already are.
+MacClay8 yea u went FULL RETARDeither you are really dumb or you are just joking around purposely looking dumb because it is so clear that you twisted my statemnt and put words in my mouth I never said or used the phase "racist imagery" go back and try to have someone read my statement for you if you cant read bc your responce shows that you cant read or is scratching the bottom of the pot for something to fight back with bc my points have destroyed everything your argument stood on, so the only thing your weak argument can stand on now is my strong points flipped in reverse sad*, you must be one of the three thingsin need to change my words for the benefit of your weak argument that cant stand on its own bc it crashed and burnedyou simply arent able to read, that is why you changed my statement and wordsor you just went full retard and your brain is now scrambledeither way your responce is now to retarded for me to even give you anymore of my time seeing that you copy paste my points and try to flip it with your own argument(so amateur) you should really be embarrassed, and if you arent, then that is even worse smh...you should go back and delete it or edit it bc u really made yourself look dumbbtw i naver said i thought you were white i said "whites like you" refering to your way of thinking, indicating white ppl like you, you could be black and still have whites like you, with your train of thought and way of thinking, but im guessing you didnt understand that statement either wowim not going to explain it anymore bc you obviously dont have the mental capacity to understand it or you are just joking or.....you just went full retard XD never go full retard - X6WHBO_Qc-Q
+Adorian Lee You should look up the words yourself, because you are still using them incorrectly. A burning cross is racist imagery. A group of people in pointy white hoods is racist imagery. The old Sambo/minstrel acts were racist imagery. A woman not laughing as hard as two other people for the brief time she is in the shot is NOT racist imagery, no matter how hard you wish it were.I understand the definition just fine, it's not my fault that you are using some loose definition to fit your agenda. If you were using the correct one, you would agree with me, or maybe you are just very ignorant of your own motivations."Many" whites? Out of the estimated 240,000,000 white people in the United States, how many have actually met that you feel comfortable making broad stroke judgements about them? Go ahead, toss out a number. What fraction of a percentage of the population is good enough? You aren't even using the term "Reverse racism" correctly. Reverse racism (done correctly, IE: Affirmative Action, minority scholarships) is a Good thing. Normal racism is a Bad thing, no matter the races of the originator or target, and only a bigot (going by the actual definition of bigot) would think otherwise.Whites like me must be very terrible indeed, given that I'm not white. Don't let that stop your racially based, preconceived notions about who I am though.Wrong is Wrong, dude. You can say that it is right, but it will still be wrong. It will always be wrong, and the truth will always be the truth even if you choose to deny it. Defend it, fight it, or face it. . . It will always be the truth.Replace 'white' with any other race or group in your last paragraph, and see how it looks. Also remove 'most blacks and', so the syntax will make sense. You come off as a bigot and a hypocrite. Sorry but it's a sad truth. But don't worry about it! You may outgrow it, and even if you don't, no one will likely notice or care outside of people who are bored on YouTube, haha!
+MacClay8 I think you should look up the word imagery and the way i used it bc you clearly dont understand it, i didnt use the word to describe anyone being racist nor did i call any person racist in the video, you are the one who keep using the word racist and bringing up racism, also look up the word bigotry bc you also dont understand the way i used the word or you dont understand the definition, you'll probably say you do but, if you did, you would agree with me or maybe you are just very ignorant to how whites relate to other races.i have met many whites and many like you who try to use reveres racism against other races (who say the truth about the whites) to try and defend the white race, truth is, most whites are bigots and the rest are racists and a small majority are neither (very small)and whites like you are the worst bc they dont even understand their own type of thinking, Id prefer super racist whites who hate then ones like you who try to defend wrong thinking and trully believe nothing is wrong with it and it is ok, that is the type of dangerous and destructive thinking that makes ppl fly planes into buildings.wrong is wrong dude you can say its right but it will still be wrong, it will always be wrong, and the truth will always be the truth if you choose to deny it, defend it, fight it, or face it, it will always be the truth....btw i dont hate white ppl some of my favorite family members and friends are white, some of their thinking is fuckd up but we get along just fine. Im not racist towards them or anyone else, most blacks and other ethic groups are this way but i cant say the same for whites, sorry but its a sad truth.
+Adorian Lee I know what the words mean just fine. I'd say you don't, as you use them incorrectly. It's possible that I don't understand what you are saying, since you don't communicate very well. How many whites have you met? Actually met and talked with for more than five minutes. 100? 1,000? By your own logic lower down, that makes you a stereotyper. Your stereotyping is race-based, and you prejudge others based on your stereotypes of their race. What does that make you?You yourself even said " just because you say im not racists and all people are equal and you think u belivee that does not mean you are not a bigot u just dont know it until the right situation occurs .....", and I think it's obvious what the 'right situation' is for you. If that's all it really takes to qualify as a bigot or racist under your terms, then you can put everyone of every race under that umbrella, so have fun with that. You yourself are guilty of this, so you should probably stop throwing stones inside a fragile glass house. I understand the point you were trying to make fairly well, I just think it's weak and hypocritical. You should probably open your eyes as well.Or, go on seeing what you want to see. Either way.
+MacClay8 you must not know what the word imagery means or what the word racist mean or what the word bigot means or you just simply went Full Retard(never go full retard man) XDbut seriously i honestly think u dont understand what im saying or you dont understand what you are talking about, im mistaken for white alot and when im around other whites they talk bad about blacks all the time bc they assume im white too i have traveled a lot and met all kinds of whites and the majority are bigots not racistsface it whites are the most racists race to blacks with the majority being bigots to all other races its true ive seen it for myself whites are the best at being two-faced they will act like they dont see ppl in terms of color but in private around other whites they talk shit some of my white friends tried to get me to look at blacks as stupid or inferior to me without even knowing im not white, i never told them im not white i just let them think what they want, I never looked at them the same way again and cut them offtruth is there are a very small percentage of whites who are not bigots or racists and they are the ones raised around blacks or raised the correct way by their parents who were raised around blacks, just because you say im not racists and all people are equal and you think u belivee that does not mean you are not a bigot u just dont know it until the right situation occurs ......btw if i judge an entire race off of one person, it is not called racists it is stereotype im guessing you just dont know the meaning of the words im using or the point im making about THE IMAGERY OF RACE RELATIONS open your eyes
+Adorian Lee You either implied her reaction was racially motivated, or you were complaining that a white person wasn't behaving the way you thought she should.Either way, you applied your judgement to the entirety of white people, which in itself is a racist act. The majority of white people are bigots? That is literally as racist, and as incorrect as saying the majority of black people are criminals. The black people in my family are criminals, so since by your logic judging an entire race off of a few examples is okay, that statement would be accurate? The challenge doesn't fail, you merely ignored it. It doesn't fit your prejudices so you couldn't find it in yourself to use the scenario really look hard at your own motivations. You shouldn't defend something that is wrong either, but look at you go.
+MacClay8 um where in my comment did i call the white lady racist? No I said it was a good imagery of race relations in America and it is true if u like it or not white ppl are very racist in America with the majority being bigots I am not "looking way to hard" one half of my own family are all white ppl so I dont have to look hard at all to see bigots and racists whites i grew up around them in my own family, some of my favorite family members are white and they are bigots i love them and they love me but their thinking is all fuckd up and i honestly think they dont realize itand no it wouldnt be the same for a latin women bc most latin ppl get along with blacks in America so it would be a much less accurate imagery of race relations, so your challenge fails. dont defend something that is wrong no matter if its your own race or not i dont like stupid or racist shit that any race do bc i love all ppl but truth is, if you are white the majority of your own races' relations towards other races is fuckd up face it ....
The white woman was laughing just fine, but she wasn't involved in the conversation/misunderstanding.Maybe she merely reacts less than you think is proper, even when she thinks it is as funny?Maybe she's nervous as shit for being on live TV?Maybe she heard Riccinni perfectly well and doesn't understand Steve's reaction at first, despite cracking up later?Maybe people can react slightly differently to things without having a racial motivation?Maybe (just maybe) you are looking way too hard for racism while unintentionally being racist yourself? Would you have had that same reaction if the white woman was instead Latin, but had the same reaction?
I'm white and this whole clip made me laugh so hard, I couldn't even breathe. Steve's a hilarious host, and Riccinni was a good sport throughout the whole bit. This clip made my whole day. :)
+TheAnimatorWolf The way you explained your feelings about the situation (the way you felt the first time, then the way you felt the second time and the way you sad you feel about the comment) proves my point, and its sad even if you dont see it in yourself
Apparently you guys are partly blind, but I see the lady laughing a bit. I don't think she was trying to force it out but it just wasn't as funny to her.See when I first watched this with no one around me, I laughed as much as the light-skinned woman. It just wasn't as funny to me originally, but the 2nd time watching it, I laughed as much as the asian lady because of both of their laughs and how immature the comment was.
+Adorian Lee I can see your reason for disagreement very clearly. I guess I've been watching Avenue Q on YouTube a bit too much...^^; Anyway, you are right about the true problem, which is what I neglected to mention because I didn't feel I could go into too much detail in a place like this.
+Alexandra SiegelI completely agree with all you said, what you said is something someone with very good intelligence would say and is very refreshing to read. However the song I completely disagree with it because everyone isn't a little racist, let me explain:i personally think there is a small majority that is actually racist in all races including blacks, BUT the two big things we socially practice in society is BIGOTRY and STEREOTYPE.I think the song demonstrates these things but call it racist in error. Everything in the song was bigotry and stereotype NOT racist. It is true that almost (not everyone) can be a little of a bigot at times, and stereotype at other times without ever being racist. either way its just as wrong but its a sickness in our society that goes misdiagnosed over and over again that is why its never cured and people fight over the wrong thing (if a person is racist or not).Racism isnt the real problem anymore its BIGOTRY and STEREOTYPE, this is the point of the move CRASH, that is why that movie got so many nominations and won so many awards including an Oscar for Best Picture (one of the most prestigious awards for a film) because it showed something most of our society miss everyday about themselves and racism, stereotype, and bigotry are all different things we practice depending on who we are or what we think about one another.Stereotype and bigotry can be just as dangerous and bad as racism but it is not racism, however, we all practice it, we also often play into our stereotypes not knowing what we are doing to ourselves.....kinda sad but true.......
+Ricardo Martinbtw if the white girl would have fell out laughing at this with them both, it wouldnt have made her look racist in any way, she would have looked just as fun and down to earth as the Asian lady and would have made the humorous moment even better XDBlack White Asian all sharing a good laugh together would have been a beautiful image
+Adorian Lee *blushes* I don't like to be wrongfully judgmental based on race, though I'm not colorblind to the differences either. Also, there's the song from Avenue Q, "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist." It may sound cheesy, but the message is powerful. There's a time and place for everything, including genuine racial humor. It's sometimes hard to tell the difference because some people are more sensitive than others.
+Ricardo MartinWhite people aren't "NOT ALLOWED" to say the "N" word, we all have freedom of speech, I know some white people who say that word and the blacks who know them dont have a problem with them bc they know that they dont mean any disrespect and they understand the way the word is used wrong and they arent using it that way.but in anyway a white person shouldn't say it even if they are excepted by blacks to say it or not, because its just classlesswhat you explained about a support group joke is very different than whats funny in this video, what you explained was a joke in the wrong setting at the wrong time, that is what i said is a person who cant make a joke because they dont know the time nor the place to do so or even how to deliver the joke so its not offensive, in this video its a "humorous racial misunderstanding" not even a "joke" just something very funny that has a "racial overtone" NOT a "racist overtone", there is nothing wrong with that, its just good social humor,Steve understood this that is why he clarified "SHE DIDNT SAY ANYTHING RACIST" and he took it there out of humor and she also understood that is why she also found it so funny. It had nothing to do with her yet she looked "uncomfortable" check how Steve apologize to them both but for very different reasons he wanted to make sure the Asian lady wasnt offended because he didnt understand her words and she wasnt offended at all he even say "Im glad you have a good spirit about it", but to the white girl he apologized because she looked annoyed at them having a little fun like they are wasting her time, he even said "im sorry, i know Ive wasted a lot of time with this"bottom line people need to stop being so uptight, looking down on people, and understand when a joke is just a joke and if you cant make good racial jokes or find them funny then you suck as a comic or you are just racist deep down and dont even know itsorry for my long novel lmao...Blame my black ass parents XD
+Adorian LeeForgive me for being long-winded. My point on both comments is this:The white chick was worried about offending people by laughing at a black joke. After all...white people aren't allowed to say the "n" word.
+Adorian LeeIf you ever went to a substance abuse support group, you would never hear the lead therapist cracking a "drunk" joke because anyone who attends any kind of social work or awareness program has this inflated sense of idealism that topical humor should be avoided for the sake of "dignity".
+Ricardo Martin you are this person in the video lol or just like them and want to try and find a good excuse for it, the Asian lady is laughing uncontrollably when someone like you would be "uncomfortable" or offended because of the nature of what is funny directed towards you or someone else, the black guy is also laughing uncontrollably when someone like you would have been "uncomfortable" or offended because of the nature of what he thought she said.People who cant joke about race is racist, and i mean people who have the ability to joke in a non-offensive way, not someone who will say something racist and try to make it funny. there is a big difference example is Dave Chappelle with his Bigsby character, Boondocks with Uncle Ruckus even Seinfeld with The Wizard ep all have issues about black people and stereotypes all are great laughs and jokes no boycotts because they know how to make racial jokes.bottom line, white people (not all) usually show themselves the way she is showing herself, and i really think some dont even realize it or they cant help it, its the way they were raised by their parents.....
You can't tell the difference between stuck-up and uncomfortable? People who claim to be "socially conscious" have a hard time laughing at race, drunk, or "retard" jokes, even when the target is also laughing.
+Adorian Lee1) I can understand the accent(kinda)2) Eh. Don't most of us do that?3) Yeah, sure.4) Eh. She was laughing before. She probably just wanted to get to the game and was slightly laughing.

Lewis Sorely presents "Westmoreland: The General Who Lost Vietnam," as part of the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center's Perspectives in Military History ...
+Ramius The key elements where Westmoreland was faulted were for essentially ignoring "pacification" -- that era's term for counterinsurgency tactics -- and for failing to prepare ARVN to fight when the U.S. commitment ended. Washington's limitations were to keep China out of the war and to prevent a nuclear exchange. And anyway, no general in the history of U.S. warfare was successful in a campaign AND free from Washington "interference." Interference is another word for Democracy; the absence of it at any time is not only wrong but a fantasy. Sorley does fault McNamara and Johnson heavily for what went wrong in Vietnam. One of the elements of his book not discussed here (I hope I am not confusing it with another) is North Vietnamese accounts released waaaay post-war that show that the war went very badly for them post-1969.The other thing I rely upon is something U.S. Gen. George Marshall said post-World War II: That the American people have to be "entertained" to continue to support a war effort. I consider that a cynical choice of words, but he meant essentially that American patience is not infinite. Even in that war, which demanded total mobilization totally unlike anything that has happened since, a democracy is fought with the people's will, not a leader's, and leaders have only x number of years to win their conflicts, or prepare successful exit strategies, before the people begin to question and, finally, rebel. The thing Sorley seems most disgusted with in Westmoreland is his apparent inability to recognize what was happening and be HONEST about it instead of being fatally self-absorbed. I don't see how anybody can blame Washington for that.
+Nick Sambides Jr. He wasn't allowed to fight the war the way he needed to, he had a lot of limitations placed on him by Washington. Also we lost primarily on the home front. The tet offensive is one example of that, it was a big military victory for the U.S. but it was politically damaging. Also, it wasn't exploited the way it should have been. Whether or not Westmoreland can take blame for that entirely I don't really know. I can appreciate we had to learn to fight a different kind of war, I can appreciate the will and achievements of the enemy but we did not lose the war on the battlefield. ...and know I have not read Lewis Sorely's assessment of Westmoreland so I can not comment, but it sounds interesting. I will have to look it up.
+Ramius If you believe that, then you don't agree with, or don't understand, Lewis Sorely's argument. Westmoreland's poor performance was aided and abetted by Washington, to be sure, but he was the general in charge.
+evidenceonlythanx a religious person in my view means one that believes that a higher power exits and that they must worship the higher power to gain its favor or avoid its wrath
+SunIRIise '' Not religious, don't go to church. ''Going to church is NOT the definition of RELIGIOUS.RELIGIOUS (Definition)- One who believes in a god figure.Do YOU believe in a god figure ( remember LYING, may take you to hell).
+LibertarianUSA1982 Actually you are correct but we did unfortunately model the ARVN along the lines of our Army and that required an industrial base far beyond anything the South Vietnamese were ever likely to achieve on their own. When we shut off the flow of material and money to conduct the war when the Soviets and Chinese maintained their support of the north the ARVN folded.
+evidenceonlythanxNot religious, don't go to church.Don't like it when religious people bring up religion when it isn't relevant to said media.I also don't like it when anti religious people bring up religion when it isn't relevant to said media.
+SunIRIise '' That affliction isn't from religion, but Muricanism.MURICANISM, is religious 100%.RATIONAL Americans do not carry on like deluded fuckwits.Muricanism is the domain of the religiously retarded of the world.Hope that clears the fog from before your eyes. Are you RELIGIOUS by chance ?
+LibertarianUSA1982 '' The US never lost Vietnam, we left Vietnam and the South Vietnamese lost Vietnam. '' Wow ! To be THAT under-educated, delusional, and misguided can only point to one thing. You suffer from the horrible affliction of religion. Only the religious can make ridiculous statements like the one you made, that is so far removed from known reality as to be laughable. Religion is a joke, and your religious beliefs make an ass-hat CLOWN out of you. Go peddle your drivel at your local church. It is only those people that are so stupid and gullible as to believe your intellectual shit. Grow the fuck up, and start thinking HONESTLY for once in your life.
He is nothing but armchair general. He is still following those naive
inflated figures of American body count. Instead he should have red study
by Hirschman, Preston and Vu Manh Loi of Vietnamese casualties during the
1965-75 war. Some one million casualties of civilians and soldiers of all
armed force. 650 000 soldiers of all armed forces were killed including 200
000 - 230 000 soldiers of Saigon regime. It means that just about 400 000 +
North Vietnamese/NLF soldiers deceased and not all them in combat. In
reality American and Saigon forces never effective even in battlefield.
75-80% of battles were Americans/ARVN ambushed by NV/NLF. Not the best way
to win a war.
How does a man like GEN Westmoreland rise to that level and mar America so
deeply? It's sadly par for the course. Promotions aren't made on merit, but
mere appearances. He was a politician, not a strategic-minded military
leader. But he looked good, and that's all that mattered.
I think we are saying the same thing essentially. Westmoreland was promoted to his level of incompetence. What disturbs me is the way the personnel system moved him up in rank without realizing his clearly established lack of ability. In short, he was a "paper tiger." Did that matter to DA? Nope. He had the right friends and looked good in a uniform. Sadly, it's essentially the same system today - which explains the way the senior leaders in all the services refused to confront the idiocy and corruption at the highest levels of military civilian leadership.
+Jim McNeely Saying that Westmoreland was a politician is an insult to politicians. Many politicians could tell, and spoke out, that Westmoreland's strategy and tactics were just wrong. Westmoreland was an excellent soldier in many ways who got promoted way, way way beyond his level of competence.
Burma does not want to become a Chinese colony. The greedy and
materialistic Chinese already control too many things in Burma. Enough is
enough. It's better to be and free than become a vassal state of China.
